And then he was gone, leaving the team to finish getting ready and dressing up for celebratory drinks.
“Told ya,” Gillian threw over her shoulder on her way out.
“Let’s go get fucking wasted,” Blaze said, rising to his feet.
Andro helped him put on a T-shirt and then his leather jacket, and then they were outside, strolling through the field and campus towards the Sparkling Hoof.
Once they reached the end of the campus, Blaze saw the rest of their Inner Circle already standing in front of the bar.
Dominic, Valentine, and another guy whose name Blaze couldn’t remember also stood amongst them.
No fucking way.
Andro and Blaze crossed the street faster than lightning, walking right in the middle of a conversation.
“And who the fuck do you think you are?” Alecto scoffed, giving Dominic the meanest of her looks.
Something inside Blaze’s chest warmed, seeing her vicious.
Dominic only smirked, stepping closer to her. Blaze barely held himself from slamming fists into his chest and pushing him away from her.
But that wouldn’t do them any good.
“I’m DominicfuckingLeveau,” his brother said, cocking his head to the side. The silence that fell around them was deafening. Blaze stopped breathing. “And who the fuck are you?”
Blaze ground his teeth, his palms curling into fists at his sides. “Dominic,” he warned.
His brother, of course, disregarded him.
Even if Alecto was shocked to find out Blaze had a brother, she didn’t show it.
She tipped her glass to her lips and turned her attention away to the bar.
“One too many Leveau men on this fucking earth.”
“Oh, she’s got an attitude.” Dominic grabbed her arm, yanking her closer to his chest. “How about I fix that for you, honey?”
Blaze was about to lose his shit. Fabian, another of Dominic’s dogs, said, “Dominic, we’re leaving. Another time.”
Dominic glanced down on Alecto, his eyes searching her face. He wet his lips. “You better hope we don’t cross paths ever again.”
He brought his lips to her ear and whispered something.
And then he let her go, walking away with Valentine and Fabian towards the edge of the field where the rest of their team was waiting for them.
“Are you okay?” Andro asked Alecto.
“Yeah, I’m peachy. Here I thought we had the worst of the Leveau bloodline with us. But apparently, it can always be worse.”
Always insults coming out of that pretty mouth when it came to him.
Ormoans of pleasure.
Never anything in between.
“Consider yourself lucky.”
“I didn’t know you had a brother,” Jolene mused, still eyeing the Grimswater pricks.
