“Well, now let’s get to the fun part, shall we?” she asked, her smile growing. “Hands together.”
They obeyed her, forming a circle in the middle of the foyer and weaving their fingers together.
“Alecto, will you do the honors?” Val asked.
Alecto smirked. “Abso-fucking-lutely.Inferereo.”
She said the words loud and clear, the rest joining in, their voices filled with the same anticipation and mischief.
Alecto conjured the flame in her mind, letting it burn through her until her palms were warming up. She released her friends’ hands. When she opened her palms, flame bloomed. She couldn’t hold back the chuckle.
“Come on, bitches,” Val shrieked. “Let’s burn these motherfuckers to the ground.”
Without a word, Val broke into a run and disappeared behind the stairs at the back of the House. Andro laughed, ducking inside the living room on their left.
With a smile, Alecto caught Blaze’s dark gaze and hurried up the stairs.
Alecto went into one room after another, slamming the door open and sprinkling the flame after her, watching it cling to the curtains, furniture, and bedding. It was getting hotter with each room catching fire, but Alecto ignored the heat caressing her cheeks and made her way through the rooms towards the one room she wanted to see burn the most.
She didn’t think it would feel this good to be reckless. To be cruel. But it was as if she was standing at the top of the fucking mountain, the whole world lay under her feet.
When she reached Matias’s bedroom, the door was already open. Blaze stood in the middle, casually glancing around.
“So, is that what you like?” he asked, slowly turning to her. “Alpha-male bullshit with a touch of debauchery?”
Alecto smiled. “Last time I checked, debauchery wasyourforte. So you can’t really judge.”
A small smirk appeared. “Yeah. Then I’m at least half your type.”
Something inside Alecto’s chest swirled—heat, not from the flames devouring the House, building in her belly, pooling between her thighs.
Her heart was beating a thousand miles per minute, threatening to escape her rib cage.
Blaze took a step closer, and then another one, bringing them so close together Alecto couldfeelhis presence. His head dipped, lips coming close to hers, and despite herself, Alecto lifted her face towards him, meeting him halfway.
It was the adrenaline to blame.
Definitelythe adrenaline.
Blaze’s lips brushed hers, his warm breath making the hairs at the back of her neck rise. “Let’s burn this fucker down. What do you say, Black?”
Alecto smiled and took a step away. Still keeping Blaze’s gaze, she threw the rest of her flame onto the dresser.
Blaze mimicked her, throwing his onto the desk perched by the opposite wall.
His eyes burned just as bright as the flames rapidly growing around them. Alecto blinked, and he was right in front of her. Another blink, and his mouth closed over hers, devouring her whole.
Alecto wrapped her hands around his neck, pulling him closer as she hooked a leg over his. Without hesitation, he cupped her ass with his palms, lifting her up, and then they were on the move.
A gasp escaped Alecto when her back hit a wall, but she didn’t let his lips slide. She kissed harder, harsher, biting on his lower lip so hard the taste of copper filled their mouths.
That only seemed to draw a growl from Blaze, and he pushed his hips into her, grinding his hard-on into her core.
Alecto was going to melt. She was burning from the inside, her blood molten lava, and the heat was threatening to overcome her from the outside—
She gasped as a heatwave hit them, and their kiss broke. They both turned to the side, to the corridor where they came from, which was all engulfed in a flame.
No escape route.
