“Mind your own business,Leveau.”
An idea popped inside Blaze’s mind then—something that would definitely make this evening less dreadful.
He had noticed the weird hesitation Alecto had with public affection of any kind. Especially when it came to sex.The way she always refused to participate in any sex rituals the Snakes performed.
Blaze was aware of her sexual escapades. This girl was no prude amongst the witches. So it fascinated him that she was so against something that was so natural for their kind.
Is it her mortal side?
He recoiled inside himself at the thought, remembering once again that Alecto was, in fact, ahalf breed.
Yet, she was stilllegacy.
Still an equal member of the House of Snakes. Even if she didn’t deserve it.
Ignoring the bitter sting in his chest, Blaze slid his hand down her arm, looping their fingers together. Alecto jerked her hand, but Blaze didn’t let her slip away.
“How about we have some fun tonight, baby?”
Alecto didn’t have to know that the only one having fun would be him.
Humiliation was Blaze’s forte after all.
And he knew exactly how to humiliatedearAlecto to bring him the most satisfaction.
Right then, Val called out—it was time for the third years to go up to the stage. Blaze moved, tugging Alecto with him before she could refuse.
As he passed Val, a question shone in her eyes about him disobeying her and bringing the second year out of line. Blaze simply winked and took the first step up onto the stage.
To his surprise, Alecto didn’t fight him, trailing after him to the stage, lit up only with a massive number of candles scattered at the edges. As more and more Snakes filled the space on the stage, the candlelight flickered higher, more aggressively.
Blaze led Alecto to the end of the stage, black and pink rose petals scattered under their feet, wings of white doves flapping over their heads as the creatures made circles.
Even though they were at the very corner of the massive stage, the other members of their House shielding them from the crowd of spectators, there wasn’t anywhere to hide as Blaze came to a stop and turned to face Alecto.
Her eyes were shooting bullets as she warned, “Don’t you even think I’ll fuck you on this stage. I don’t—”
He placed a gentle finger over her lips. Blaze had to bite down on his lower lip to stop the laugh, but his heart was singing seeing Alecto so openly suffering.
As if he would ever fuck her against her will.
As if he would ever fuck herat all.
“Don’t worry,” he whispered, lips brushing past the shell of her ear. He could have sworn she shuddered under his touch. “I want our first time to be special.”
Her whole body went still, but just for a moment. Then, she grabbed the front of his shirt, curling the silk in her fist.
Which surprised Blaze greatly.
Alecto hadn’t stood up to him before. Not once.
“Keep sweet-talking me, and you’ll regret it.” Her voice was a warning.
There was nothing Blaze enjoyed more than a challenge.
What was the worst this girl could do to him? Stare him to death with her icy blue eyes?
Please.
