Finally, she managed to peel her eyes open, sniffling.
The world was upside down.
“What the fuck,” Alecto croaked.
She tried to move, but she couldn’t. Her legs were tied, hands hanging above her head. Or, rather, down her head.
Alecto shifted, testing the restraints holding her, but it was no use. The earth beneath her was too far as she hung in the air.
“Ah, wonderful. You’re awake,” Blaze’s voice came from behind her, and soon, his tall figure emerged in front of Alecto.
Blaze stopped a few feet away from her, one hand in his jeans pocket, the other holding a burning cigarette.
“What the fuck is this, Blaze?” Alecto demanded.
They were at the party, on the swing by the forest, and then—
The cloud, the burning…
Blazedruggedher.
“You motherfucker,” Alecto screamed, thrashing.
That only made him laugh.
“Ah, yes,” Blaze said, chuckling. “You’re going to hate me for this.”
“I already fucking do,” Alecto sneered.
How fucking stupid.
How fucking stupid could she have been, going anywhere with him, ever thinking he could be a decent fucking person.
“What the fuck do you want?” Alecto asked once she’d calmed herself down. She wasn’t getting out of that rope, no matter how much she tried. “Where am I?”
“You know where you are.”
Alecto growled, looking around. They were in the middle of the forest, trees as far as the eyes could see. Nobody was around, the sounds of the party nowhere to be heard.
White mist covered the ground, and the hairs on the back of Alecto’s neck rose.
They were in the Cursed Forest.
“Blaze, I don’t know what fucked up joke you think you’re—”
“It’s not a joke, Black,” Blaze said. “It’s a warning.”
A warning? What the—
Ah, of course.
Alecto should have known that sooner or later, he would try to get back at her, even if it wasn’t fair. It wasn’t Alecto’s fault she had to get back at him for detention. But of course, Blaze wouldn’t see things that way.
For him, everything was a game. And he always had to win.
“You thought that you could fuck up my rockey game and walk away?” Blaze asked, coming closer.
Alecto snapped her mouth shut, glaring at him.
