“First, we each take a malaka crystal. Place it under your tongue and let it melt. Don’t swallow, and don’t bite into it. Let it dissolve at its own pace.”

Alecto and Blaze both nodded.

“Once you start feeling your limbs growing light and your sight getting blurry, as if you were seeing the world through a cloud of fog, we’re going to start the ritual.”

Once again, they nodded.

Alecto’s heart hammered in her chest, her palms sweaty. It was anxiety about the threesome, about getting drugged and participating in a sex ritual. But a small part of it was also a giddy excitement about it all.

A new world was opening in front of Alecto. Unexplored, full of possibilities. Alecto was testing her limits once more to find that she barely had any.

Andthatwas intoxicating.

She put the malaka crystal Val handed her under her tongue, pressing it down tightly so it wasn’t moving in her mouth. Then she closed her eyes and focused on her body and its reaction.

At first nothing happened. The crystal melted, her mouth filling with a sweet and sour taste that reminded her of those artificial candies from the mortal world that would make her tongue red and blue.

But then Alecto’s hands were suddenly light as a feather. She lifted one, and she could feel it moving through the air as if the air had weight and texture to it.

When she opened her eyes, the room around them was glowing. The shadows on the walls cast by the candlelight were the most beautiful thing in the world. They danced and talked and laughed, weaving together.

Alecto wished she could join them.

A hand landed on her knee, and Alecto gasped. It had never felt this good to be touched. She tilted her head to the side, placing her palm over the hand resting on her thigh now.

“The world feels amazing,” Alecto whispered. “Can you taste the air?”

“It tastes sweet like candy.” Val’s voice was like honey on Alecto’s tongue. Sweet and soft. Sending shivers down her back to her very core.

“It smells like the sea. Can you smell it?” Blaze’s voice came from another side, and Alecto had to bite her lip to stop herself from moaning.

Hearing his voice in her ears was like having his hands all over her. She wanted more. And more. She couldn’t imagine having enough of it.

A moment later, she realized it was his palm resting on her thigh, his thumb making lazy circles. Each movement sent sparks of pleasure through her body.

“Fuck me,” Blaze whispered, closing his eyes. He let his head fall back, exposing the tall column of his throat.

Alecto’s mouth went dry at the sight. She had the urge to press her lips against his neck, lick the skin, and taste the salt on her tongue.

“We should.” Val’s eyes were pupilless as she looked at Blaze, ready to devour. When her attention shifted to Alecto, her heart made silly leaps.

At first, Alecto thought Val was going to say something. But whatever it was went unsaid because Val leaned forward and got on all fours.

She crawled towards Alecto, bringing their faces so close, Alecto could smell the icy mint on Val’s’ breath.

Val’s nostrils flared as she inhaled Alecto’s smell, her nose pressed into Alecto’s cheek. “So soft. So sweet.”

A moan escaped Alecto’s lips when Val cupped her face in her palm and brought their lips together. Val’s body radiated searing heat, but her mouth was cold. It made Alecto’s nipples perk up, goose bumps rising over her skin.

Their tongues were moving slowly, from one lazy kiss onto the next one. The hand resting on Alecto’s thigh drifted higher, closer to her core.

When it found the sweet spot between her thighs, Alecto was already wet. She spread her thighs wider, fisting the material of Val’s dress, and she deepened the kiss.

In response, Val moaned into Alecto’s mouth, and she swallowed it, not letting Val’s lips go. Blaze’s hand was clever between her legs, his thumb making circles over her clit just the way she loved.

But this time, everything felt a thousand times better.

Alecto’s whole body was electrified. With her senses so heightened, she could taste the world around her, feel it pressing into her skin, looking for a way inside her.
