Those pretty lips that drove him crazy parted and released a soft breath, which sent shivers down Blaze’s back.

“Howbasic,” Alecto whispered back, her eyes darting between his lips and eyes. “Howpredictable.”

Blaze’s lips curled into a crooked smile, his heart hammering in his chest so hard, he could only take shallow breaths.

How wicked, how beautiful she was.

“If you insist,” he said after a pause, tilting his head to the side. “Why don’t we add a little bit of danger to it?”

It wasn’t Blaze who brought their lips together first.

It was Alecto.

Her mouth pressed to his oh so gently, at first Blaze wasn’t even sure what to do with himself.

So he let her lead, guided by her soft and gentle touches as her tongue caressed his lips. She let out quiet gasps when he opened himself for her, and she made her way into his mouth.

They had kissed before. On multiple occasions.

But something was different this time.

Shewas different this time.

Alecto’s lips weren’t greedy or in a rush. They weren’t trying to push something forward or get something out of him.

It was a kiss that didn’t have any other intention other than feeling each other in the most intimate way possible.

That was until a sharp sting pierced Blaze’s bottom lip and the taste of copper filled his mouth.

Only then did he remember there was a spell waiting for them.

When Alecto’s lips left his, there was an emptiness in him that Blaze didn’t want to understand. His gaze was fixated on her lips streaked with red, both of Blaze and Alecto panting heavily.

“Mufello,” she started murmuring, her eyes hooded, her pupils dilated to the point where there wasn’t much of her stark blue left.

Blaze joined her, willing his mouth to form the spell as both of them were locked in this dazed state, their magic mixing with something else, making their bodies vibrate. Come alive.

Alecto was the first one to snap out of it, her head whirling towards the planter on the desk.

A moment later, Blaze followed her gaze to find a tiny little fire-red stalk stretching from under all that dirt, a tiny little bud uncoiling from it, getting ready to bloom at the very top.

“Oh, Gods,” Alecto whispered. And then she laughed.

That sound was so childlike and carefree, filled with genuine joy. So unlike the girl Blaze knew, the only thing he could do was stare at her.

A weird realization uncoiled inside Blaze.

There wasn’t much he wouldn’t do to hear that sound again.

“What the fuck are you looking at?” Alecto snapped Blaze right out of his thoughts.

He blinked, rubbing his eyes as he leaned back in his chair.

Gods, this fucking girl.

“You see, nothing a little bit of sex magic can’t solve,” Blaze said, his voice still hoarse as he waved a hand at the planter with a newborn plant in the middle of it.

Alecto smirked, cool and cruel. “With a dash of blood magic in the mix, of course.”
