The high didn’t last very long, though.
Two players caught up with Blaze: a tall girl with her hair braided in long thick braids draped over her shoulders and a massive guy with shoulders twice as broad as Blaze’s.
And that spoke volumes. Blaze’s shoulders were already wide.
They crowded Blaze from both sides, coming in closer and closer.
Luckily, Blaze was fast, and just when they were about to slam into him from both sides, squishing him between them, Blaze fell on his knees and dropped, his glider coming very close to the grass.
He glanced up to see the two players lose their balance and slam into each other not too gracefully.
With a chuckle, Blaze rose and willed his board to move up again. They were very close to the gate; it was time to pass the ball to—
On Blaze’s left, Andro was surrounded by the twins, caged between their bodies.
“Fuck,” Blaze cursed as he changed course.
Instead of heading for the gates, he headed towards the boys.
With anger once again clouding his mind, Blaze didn’t even think twice before he slammed into the first twin, him and Blaze sprawling to the grass.
The ball slipped his grip, but it was for the better.
Now Blaze had free hands to grip the guy’s hair. He yanked Thornheart’s head backwards to see a flash of hatred in the green gaze and a dark smirk just before they both kissed the wet grass.

“Was it fucking necessary to give him a concussion?” Jolene screamed at Blaze, marching into the lockers after him.
The rest of the Inner Circle was on their heels.
“Injuries are part of the game, Frone,” Blaze replied nonchalantly. “You see, I have a bruised rib and a split lip.”
He stopped in front of his locker, shedding the dirty sports uniform off his body. Today required a full hot bath, so he wasn’t gonna bother with a shower here.
“You are full of shit, Leveau.” Jolene continued going at Blaze.
Slamming his locker shut, Blaze sighed. “Jolene, why don’t you like me?”
When no answer came, Blaze glanced behind his shoulder, where the rest of the Inner Circle had stood just moments ago.
They were gone.
“What the fuck?” Blaze scoffed. “Seriously? You’re gonna give me the silent treatment?Allof you?”
Blaze pulled his black T-shirt over his head, prepared to storm off, when Val’s voice came from the showers.
“Shut up and come here!”
With aching muscles, Blaze followed Val’s voice to the shower room on the left side of the lockers.
His first thought was that Val was trying to entice him into a quick fuck. But when he turned the corner and entered the showers, it was clear that Blaze was mistaken.
In one of the shower cabins, leaning against the wall was Fallon Star.
Or, rather, Fallon Star’s corpse.
Blaze came to an abrupt stop right behind Andro and Val.
