Ishut my mind off as soon as Aria turned around and faced us with red eyes.

“Rise up. You’re all a part of the Great One’s army now. We will go to the humans and the supernaturals, and we will turn them. Lucifer must be freed, and we will all be rewarded,” Aria spoke as if we were her servants.

I sensed Aria was still in there somewhere. My body and soul instantly felt the pull to Aria, trapped under her own power that the demon’s presence controlled.

“Stop,” I shrieked the second Zane lunged toward Aria. “Meadows,” I commanded the elements.

Holy shit. I did it. I teleported us.

“Elle,” Cole looked at me, “Where the fuck did you just send us?”

“To a goddamn meadow with daisies?” Logan looked around the bright green meadow we were in.

“Everyone, focus on your damn strengths,” I ordered, looking past the green rolling hills. “I’m going to bring them here to us. We have to end this now. No one kills Aria.”

“Baby,” Zac said, “She’s gone.”

“The hell she is. That demon possessed her the second it appeared. She was opened to it.”

“How the hell do we battle the strongest psychic out there?” Logan asked.

“I’m her counterpart,” I said. “She and I need each other, but I can feel more power in my veins. I brought us here, and I can feel they’re all taking the bait and coming for us.”

Cole looked around. “We might need some backup, doll face.”

“I’ll persuade them, but I must keep working with Aria. She exhausted herself by taking in Enzo’s powers as she killed him,” I heard a familiar voice say. “Baby girl, I’m so proud of you, and I’m so sorry I never helped you the right way. I will make it up to you, and we will win together.”

“Mom?” I asked, swiveling around, trying to find her spirit that I knew was freed from that corpse now.

“Elle, don’t lose it on us,” Zac said. “Call in back up with the same damn power you used to bring us here.”

We watched the peaceful blue skies turn black as a hole penetrated it, and demons came up through the ground and fell out of the skies.

“This isn’t fucking good,” Logan said.

Instantly, everyone went into supercharged power mode. I felt each one of my vamps amp up, and I watched as Zane’s wolf doubled in size. I was willing it into all of them as if I were some higher power. Thank God this was working, or we didn’t have a breath of a chance.

“Jesus,” Logan looked at the veins popping in his arms after his muscle mass grew the second Zane’s wolf turned into the size of fucking bigfoot. “Well, at least I’ll look like a fucking badass when I die in this shit storm.”

A thundering came over the mountains behind us. It seemed to be every supernatural race out there, an army that was fighting for their survival from the extinction this demon threatened us with.

I was hit from behind while enjoying the sight of our reinforcements, and that’s when all hell broke loose, literally. I tensed and then imagined whatever held me, turning into a million particles. That was the new thing, right, dusting these assholes? Zane’s bite was blasting these things into flames, while the vampires' strike of only a throat punch sent their adversaries into dust particles.

I felt more energized than ever, but Aria wasn’t here. She was watching with amusement as the war went on.

Take me to her,I commanded this new, mentally dominant side of myself.

Suddenly, I was back in the room I’d sent us from. “Come to join me as your daughter has?”

“Let her go,” I said dumbly as if the fucker was going to listen to me. I needed Aria working with me. I sensed this demon was more powerful than us combined.

“Aria, fight. I’m here in your mind.”

“I’m trapped,”she answered.

“You’re only what you imagine yourself to be. Don’t let this thing control you.”
