I saw it.Hunger.

“We need to know.” His voice was deep and husky. Eyes flicked back to the cell in my hand. One lick of his lips and he murmured. “Maybe there’s information embedded on the video somewhere. My guys can find it. Send the recording to me.”

I swallowed hard. No. Not this one. “The one from my mom…”

“No.” He shook his head. “That one is best.”

Why? So you can watch it again?

I didn’t need to look to see if he was hard. I knew he was.

“The last thing we need is for this to get out. It’ll…it’ll ruin us, Silas. You get that, right?” Lincoln stared at me until I slowly gave in and nodded.

“Good.” He stepped closer and squeezed my shoulder. “Send me the video, son and leave it to me.”

“We need to confront her.” I met his stare. God, I didn’t realize how much he looked like dad. “We need to demand the truth.”

“And we will.” He urged. “Give me the day, okay? Then we’ll do whatever you want.”

That clenched grip inside refused to release. Some part of me didn’t want to send it. But Lincoln looked at me like he was kin. Even if he hadn’t been around, he was…blood kin and now controlling half the business he had just as much at stake here as I did.

Whatever belonged to me now belonged to him also.

Lying adopted sister and all.

I lifted my cell and started typing, adding in his email. “Do you want the other one as well…the one of my mother?”

“No. Just your sister. That’s the one I want.”

I lifted my gaze, meeting his stare before he turned around and headed for the door.

Woosh.

The sending email finished as he opened the door and stepped out. I followed him to stare across the living room to where she sat watching movies with Gabe like she hadn’t just conspired to destroy our entire legacy on her fucking knees.

I’ll find out the truth.

Then, I’ll make you pay.

“I’ll be in touch.” Lincoln murmured and headed toward them, stopping to say something before he was gone.

The moment he was gone I knew sending the video was a mistake. I opened my messages. But it was far too late. Whether we wanted this or not we were on a collision course. One I thought started the morning I found my parents dead. Angelica turned her gaze to mine—but it looked like I was wrong…

The destruction of our family started long before that.

Beginning and ending with my mother and my sister.

All we needed to find out now…was to whom…and why.

I closed the study door behind me and headed for my room, forcing myself not to launch across the room and strangle the bitch where she sat.

“Night, Silas.” She called and a nerve twitched in the corner of my eye.

How fucking dare she. I yanked open my bedroom door, closing it hard behind me. “Fucking bitch…you goddamn fucking bitch.”

I headed straight for the bed, kicked off my boots and fell to the mattress, burying my face deep into my pillow and unleashed a primal roar. I punched the mattress, fighting everything in me not to tear her apart. My breath was warm, billowing back against my face before I lifted my head, looking to the door.

The sound of their steps grew closer.
