Melonie
Jax, the girls, and I claimed our space on the dance floor a while ago. We lost our shoes after a couple of songs. I tried to forget about the mini meltdown I had in front of Linc and then the way he turned me on just touching my hand, needing a distraction. I figured tequila and dancing could help, so I talked Gigi, Marcus and Linc into a trip to the bar; then I pulled Gigi onto the dance floor. Gigi was easy to convince since Lewis left right after dinner.
Linc and Marcus are still seated at the table, and it looks like they have both switched to whiskey. The tequila is telling me they need to join the party.
“G, we need to get Marcus and Linc over here,” I shout over the music.
“On it.”
She skips over, placing her hands on the table, leaning over to talk to Marcus. I watch their exchange, then Linc’s eyes meet mine. I smile and wave my hand to tell him to join us. He stands from his chair, slapping Marcus on the arm. Marcus finishes his drink and then lets Gigi drag him to the dance floor. I like this new side of him.
Linc follows behind them, then stops when he gets to me.
“Can I get that dance, Mel?”
I look up at him through my lashes. “All yours, pretty boy.”
I know I’m being flirty, but it’s hard not to. The wedding feels, the things he said to me earlier, the tequila, all have made me too relaxed. I loop my arms around his neck, and we start moving. We always move so well together. I feel my cheeks warm at the thought of how amazingly we moved in bed together. I curse the part of my brain that still thinks about that night. But damn it, I’m so horny, and the sex was so good. It’s not fair that he looks as good as he does tonight. The way his hands feel on my back, the way the short strands of his hair feel between my fingers.
Shit, I’m playing with his hair. I jerk my hands back and turn my back to him in an attempt to make it seem like I did it on purpose.
I try to leave a little space between us, but Linc lightly places his hands on my hips and tugs me against him. Goddammit, he’s hard. My vagina claims her victory when I start grinding my ass against him. I can’t fight her in a moment like this. Plus, this isn’t a dance club, this is a wedding, with Audrey and Jax’s family around us. Hell, Linc’s parents are seated at a table across the room. So, really, I’m doing him a favor by covering up his not-so-little issue. I’m just being helpful.
“You’re making it worse, Melonie.” I feel his breath against my ear.
“I just thought I was helping to hide your situation there.”
“Don’t be a tease.”
“But it’s fun to see you worked up.”
He slowly turns me to face him again, but his hands are firm on my waist.
“I don’t think you remember what happens when you turn me on, and there isn’t anything I can do about it.”
“Maybe I need a reminder.” Okay, fuck, I’m doing this.
“Are you sure about that?”
“Linc, when we leave, will you walk me to my room?”
His eyes meet mine in a way that makes my heart race. “I would love to, Melonie.”
My core begins to pulse in anticipation of him in my bed. I smile, turn my back to him again, and we return to the craziness of the group around us.
Chapter Eighteen
Linc
Icheck my watch, and it’s a little before one. Audrey and Jax are busy saying goodbye to guests. Marcus and Gigi are at the bar arguing about hockey. Seems like a good time for Mel and me to leave without being noticed. Ever since Mel asked me to walk her to her room, I’ve been ready to leave this party. Lust took over my brain and all I have thought about is removing her dress, feeling her skin, fucking her hard, and making her come as many times as she’ll let me.
I see her crossing the room, her shoes in her hand, and I walk to her. “How late do you want to stay?”
“I’m ready to leave now if you are.”
“I’ve been ready for two hours.”
She laughs and glances around. “Same. Let’s go.”
