“Princess, you’re drunk. We should go home.” He waves at the bartender for the tab.

“I’m in jollification mode.”

“That’s not a word.”

“Five bucks says it is.”

“Ten.”

“Done.” I stick my hand out to shake on it. He shakes my hand and picks up his phone, typing in the word. He rolls his eyes.

“Fucking hell.”

“Why do you doubt me?”

“Because you currently can’t feel your nose.” He chuckles.

“Don’t make fun of me.”

He reaches out, tapping my knee. Holy fuck, hetouchedme. Of his own will. I hope I’m not too drunk to remember this tomorrow.

“I’m not making fun of you. I think it’s fun that you have a drunk tell.”

I tip my nose up. “A jollification if you will.”

“Yeah, we need to get you home.” He signs the check.

Chapter Eighteen

Marcus

My phone lights up with a text from Linc that he’s waiting outside.

“Alright, princess, your chariot is here.”

She hiccups mid-giggle. “I love how you’ve embraced the whole ‘princess’ thing.”

“As long as it makes you happy.”

We stand from our barstools, and she wobbles a bit. I take my arm and link it with hers to keep her steady. I should not have let her drink so much.

“Very gentlemanly.”

“I didn’t know you were getting so drunk. I wouldn’t have ordered that last round.”

“I can hold my liquor, don’t worry. With a last name like Kelly, I’m sure there’s Irish blood in here somewhere.”

“Your parents never talked about your ancestry?”

She barks out a laugh. “Don’t even remember my parents.”

My feet stop moving as I realize what she said. “Wha—”

“Pretty boy!” She drops my arm and runs to hug Linc. He peers over her head at me, and I rub my jaw to hide my smile.

He places his hands on her shoulders, breaking the hug and looks her in the eyes. “You aren’t going to throw up in my car, are you?”

She shakes her head, her red hair flying. “Nope, just jollification.”
