She doesn’t stop.
There’s a knock at the door. “Yeah?”
“Is Ethel in there?”
“She is. Can you come get her?”
Gigi walks into the room and sees my predicament. “Ethel, that’s mine.” She winks at me, picking up the cat and walking out of the room. Now I can shower in peace.
Chapter Sixty
Gigi
Marcus heads out the door for work, leaving me with a couple of hours before my shift starts. Settling at the kitchen island, I open my message thread with Audrey and Melonie and hit the FaceTime button. They both pick up right away, their familiar smiles filling the screen.
Audrey sits at her desk, I can see the sparkle in her eyes through the screen. “Oh my God, Gigi, how was your weekend?”
“You guys, he took me to Disney World.”
“We know,” they answer in unison.
“You both knew?”
Melonie grins. “He told us his plan and we helped book everything.”
“I was a princess, he was a prince, and I got to go to the princess dinner.” Tears threaten to form in my eyes.
“Do you have more pictures? I saw the few you posted, but I need to see all of them,” Audrey pleads.
“I’ll post a photo dump later.”
Melonie looks into the camera. “Sounds good. Now tell us how you feel.”
I bite my lip, trying to figure out how to keep my response tame. “I felt like it was really convincing. And we had a lot of fun.”
“Melonie, she’s not looking into the camera,” Audrey quips.
Melonie nods, grinning.
“Spill it, G.”
I roll my eyes. “Can you two keep your mouths shut? No telling your men.”
“Oooooooo. This is about to be good.” Melonie’s eyes go wide. “I’m a vault.”
Audrey raises her hand. “Scout’s honor.”
I squeeze my eyes shut. “There might have been activities.”
“Yes!” Audrey shouts.
“What kind of activities did Cinderella partake in exactly?” Melonie teases.
“Very, very adult activities.”
Audrey grins. “Well, how was it? Just give us a general rating.”
“A-plus, teleport to another life, leave my body, die a happy woman vibe.”
