“She finally admitted it.” Audrey smiles at her.

“Oh, Gigi. I love this for you.” Melonie hugs me.

“Why are you two so blasé about this?”

“You’ve been chipping away at Marcus’ grumpy exterior for years now, and he’s let you in. You two complement each other. I just wish you would have seen him for the amazing man he is sooner. You wasted so much time with Lewis.” Melonie never sugarcoats anything.

“I know I did.”

“So, when are you going to tell him?” Melonie continues.

I sink into the couch. “I’m not.”

“Why?” Audrey looks confused.

“My whole life, I’ve chased the affection of men. After the breakup with Lewis, I promised myself that, when it’s right, my partner will chase me, will pursue me. Really fight for me, ya know? I know this thing with Marcus is a little different, but I need to know he really wants me, that he’s not just going along with my wants. I need to do this for myself.”

“I get it.” Melonie smiles.

“I have faith that Marcus can do that. I’m proud of you, Gigi.”

I nod, and the attendant returns, taking me to a dressing room. As I walk inside, I see a few dresses waiting for me and immediately, one stands out. I grab it, and she helps me put it on. I look in the mirror—it’s white, but has black satin appliques swirling down the full skirt and a bodice that lifts the girls.

“It’s perfect.”

“Would you like to show your friends?”

“Yes, please.”

We walk to the seating area, and I step into the girls’ view. Audrey brings her hand to her mouth, and Melonie looks like she could cry.

“Did you really find your dress on the first try?” Audrey wipes underneath her eye.

“I think I did.”

“Gigi, it’s just perfect.” Melonie hands Audrey a tissue.

I look at the employee. “I’ll take it.”

I wake up Sunday morning to the sound of Marcus taking a shower. I roll out of bed and walk to the bathroom door. We haven’t had sex since we came back from Orlando, and I feel like I’m going mad. I knock on the door.

“Yeah?”

“Can I come in?”

“Sure.”

I walk in and see his silhouette through the foggy glass of the shower, and I want to open the glass door and climb him like a spider monkey. I take my pajamas off, throw them in thehamper, then walk to the shower, open the door, step in, and face him.

I reach out, sliding my fingers down his pecs. “Good morning.”

“Good morning, princess.” He smiles, kissing my cheek. I glide my hand down his abs to his cock and begin stroking him, feeling him harden under my touch. His hips move with my hand, his body so receptive to my touch.

“Fuck, that feels good.” He leans down, kissing my neck, placing a hand on my breast, kneading the flesh.

“I want you, Marcus. You teased me with all the sex in Florida.”

“I’m sorry I haven’t been very attentive lately. I had to work through the shit in my brain.”
