Planning a wedding this fast was a lot of work. I'd had to spank my little thorn on more than one occasion. She has gotten brattier than ever since I admitted my feelings for her. I noticed how she hadn't said it back, either. That was okay; I could wait. If anything, I'd just spank her until she said it with tears rolling down her face. Better yet, I'd make her come, over and over again, until she said it. We hadn't done that yet. I was watching her help Eunji try on her bridesmaid dress and grinning like a fool.
"You look happy." Vito popped up out of nowhere, scaring the shit out of me.
"What are you doing here?" I grouched at him. Just because we had an alliance didn't mean I wanted him to be in my space all the time.
"I needed to talk to you and keep an eye on what's mine," he griped.
I shot him a look. "Rosalina is no longer your concern," I reminded him.
"Wasn't talking about her." He changed the subject before I could realize he was speaking about Eunji. We had flown her out here so she could help Rose pick out her dress. Eunji was also the maid of honor. "We need to have a meeting about the Russians."
I nodded my head. The Russian mob had been encroaching on our territory as of late. "We need to send a message," I told him.
Vito looked over at me, his face impassive. "We have an alliance, but I personally need to handle this."
I was surprised, to say the least. "Why?" It didn't really matter who took on the Russians, as long as they were put back in their place.
"They are trying to take what's mine," he said simply. I was sure my face held my confusion. He clarified, although he really didn't have to. "That shit bag Romano was going to sell Eunji to the Russians. They had already sent him money for her when I took her."
I was shocked. Vito wanted Eunji? Where the heck had I been all this time? Clearly, not paying attention. I was too wrapped up in my little thorn. I looked over at the girls, and they were quietly chatting. There was a cloud of sadness hanging around Eunji that wasn't there before. "Why don't you marry her?" I asked him.
He barked out a harsh laugh. "My father would have to die first."
I felt bad for Vito. Fuck. Rose was making me soft. I should still be seeing him as an enemy, someone I could never trust. "After the wedding, we can come up with a plan of attack on the Russians." I looked back at Rose and saw the very moment when her eyes lit up. Curious, I looked closer. Men surrounded her who I hadn't seen flock to her. I reached for my gun when Vito placed his hand on my arm, steadying me.
"Those are my brothers," he explained.
I looked harder and saw the family resemblance almost instantly. I relaxed a fraction, but not much. I would never trust anyone else with my little thorn's safety. Never. She was mine to protect. She was my life. I would make her love me if it was the last thing I did.
