“I just want you.”
“You have me,” I tell him resolutely.
“Promise?” I should hate how vulnerable he sounds. Such a masculine, intimidating man, small and insecure in my arms, beggingme,of all people, for reassurance. Tears smearing and soaking into my pores.
A man who I have made mine.
“A mere promise would never suffice for you, my lovelycorvus. My life is yours. I do as you wish. Devoutly.”
Brooklyn shudders against me, shoulders wracking. I hold him a little tighter, until my muscles ache from where his bones dig into my flesh. But those points of contact are just as liberating.
“But you don’t love me,” he chokes out through a particularly rough sob, his poor body shaking so badly, it causes my own to vibrate.
I sigh heavily and find his hair, needing the strands wrapped around my fingers.Close. Closer still.“Darling…”
His head shakes roughly, nose squishing. “No. D-don’t.”
“You don’t know what I?—”
“Just don’t s-say anything.” He hiccups, sucking in air to catch his breath. My skin itches as salty tears dry just as quickly as new ones drop in their place.
“I must insist. You’re quite distraught, and I?—”
“Kiss me, Tobias.” He lifts his head, giving me a shadow of shimmering blues. They are much darker in the shadows, irises swallowed whole by dark pits of desperation and looming depravity.
My hand trembles against the side of his face, and my sweet, darling boy leans into it, absorbing all my pain and trepidation like a devout saint. I drag my thumb over his mouth, feeling air rush past, filling his lungs. His eyes flutter closed, head falling slack, like the strain of keeping himself upright is too much to bear now that I have him.
I lean forward, against my will, until my lips are a whisper away. We share air, as we have in the past. It’s spiced and lovely and everything I ever thought it would be. As his chapped lips skim mine, I drop my head, enclosing his throat between my lips.
He gasps, back bowing as I sink my teeth just below the line of his jaw. His pulse flutters against the muscle, heavy and erratic. Spilling all his secrets.
I lave my tongue through the hairs there, tasting more salt before I get to his spiced essence. My eyes roll back as the taste of his flesh dances over my tastebuds, filling every nerve-ending and obliterating every thought right in their tracks.
Brooklyn’s arm reaches up, around my throat, to bury in my hair while his other holds on tightly to the necklace around my throat. His very own tether.
I draw in against his skin, sucking heavily until the very point has its own heartbeat. Then, I travel down, ravishing every inch. Marring his skin with mottled shades of maroon and cherry, knowing they will soon turn black and blue to match the others starting to fade.To keep me alive on his flesh for weeks to come.
When I sink my teeth into his Adam’s apple, tongue flicking over the ridges, he yelps and sinks his nails in, shredding my flesh as he drags down. My skin fills beneath his nails, smeared with scarlet as he leaves blinding hot trails in his wake.
“I will kiss every inch of your body, my love. No part of you will remain untouched by me,” I murmur against the hollow in his collarbone, pushing him into the back cushion of the sofa, never more grateful we dispelled our clothing before joining to simply feel one another as we slept.
What a foolish thought.
Now that I have had him this way, I cannot seem to get enough. Another way he is at his most vulnerable… impossible to resist.
His eyes crack open. “Except where I need you to most.”
A verity that turns me inside out. And one I cannot deny.
Please forgive me.I ache with the thought as I bite into the fleshy muscle of my tongue, eyes raking over his bared, flushed body. His legs are still entwined with mine, fingers curled tightly in my hair and around my chain. I feel his hardness against me, hot and throbbing.Wanting.
His body leaks his desperation, whereas mine festers with it. Smoldering at my center and furling outward until I explode.
To see it so blatantly displayed is the most beautiful sight ever bestowed upon me.
“You are utterly entrancing, my crow.”
“Then do something about it.Please, Tobias.Just—”His back arches when I drag my finger over his peaked nipple. “Keep touching me.” He grabs my glasses and slides them off my face with a shocking tenderness.
