"Oh my gods." He shakes his head and looks around at us. "I'm so sorry. My omega…he doesn't like alphas near her. Apparently. I'm Miles."
"My omega," I add, grabbing his hand so he knows I'm not mad at him. Instincts can be a real bitch.
"Shit," Ollie says, but he sounds more impressed than anything. "You guys really are scent-matched, huh?"
"Well, Ollie, did you think they were lying about it?" Simon tsks, shaking his head. "We all know about Archie's parents—"
"Of course I didn't think they werelying," Ollie holds up his hands in defense. "It's just weird seeing it in person, that's all. Remember how weird it was when Tink growled at that chick who—"
"Okay!" Cady says brightly, her cheeks flushed slightly as she claps her hands. "Enough of that. Alphas can't touch Bethany, got it."
Ollie looks so put out I almost feel bad for him. "High five?" I ask Miles, who nods with a relieved smile and I slap my palm against the alpha's.
Then Ollie's attention shifts to behind us. "Oh shit! Banana just got here!"
I turn my head to see Hannah Beckham come down the stairs of the deck, surrounded by her alphas. They all look down at her lovingly, and I can't believe how far she's come from the omega I met in this same house seven months ago.
"Happy anniversary!" She calls when she reaches us, wrapping Cady in a hug, then surprises me by hugging me as well. "Bethany! It's so good to see you."
"You too!" I smile, then loop my arm through Miles' and draw him forward. "This is my mate, Miles."
"He's an omega," she states as her brows raise, but then she smiles. "Good on you, girl. Never thought you'd go for an omega after the one that tried to steal your pack—"
"We're a scent match," Miles cuts in, and a guilty look crosses his face. No, he is not going to do this again.
"Funny story actually," I practically jump in front of him, "Miles is the other omega I caught my pack with."
Chapter 10
Bethany
"I'm sorry, what?" Hannah blinks and looks at me like I've grown a second head.
"It's a long story, and it's not his fault, and I really think we need some impartial opinions to tell him he does not need to feel guilty," I explain.
Miles shoots me a look, telling me he doesn't like what I'm doing, but I shrug. He's spent the last month beating himself up over something that one, wasn't his fault, and two, made my life infinitely better.
Ollie looks between us all. "Well? What are we waiting for, Tink? You go get Archie and Mattie, who are probably off fucking somewhere in a closet—"
"Um ew," I make a face, "don't need to hear that about my brother."
Ollie winces. "And I'll grab the grumpy ass, everyone meet upstairs in…five minutes?"
Hannah nods. "All my alphas are here, and we'll gladly contribute our opinions." She grins, elbowing her alpha who I'm pretty sure is Noah. "Right?"
"Princess, you know I'll give my opinion whether it's asked for or not."
The ginger next to him rolls his eyes. "That ain't somethin' you wanna advertise, brother."
"So what?" Noah scowls. "The only omega I care about impressing already knows." He glances over at us. "No offense."
I chuckle, shaking my head. "None taken."
Hannah smacks Noah's arm. "Noah, just because you say no offense, it doesn't make it not offensive."
Noah just shrugs. "Alright, if it doesn't make a difference, I won't say it next time."
Hannah rolls her eyes. "Let's just go upstairs."
