“Brix, please tell Elijah that I can get up and do something. Ineedto.” I look over at him. I get ready to push myself off the couch, but one look from Brix makes me falter.
“Don’t you dare get up,” he growls.
I stick my tongue out at him. “I need to do something.”
“You crawled a little earlier,” Elijah points out.
“You crawled? What happened? Why weren’t you sitting and relaxing?” Brix comes and sits beside to me.
“Had to pee,” I mumble.
“What was that?” he asks.
“I had to pee, all right?” I snark, looking directly into his eyes.
“Someone needs a nap,” he announces, raising an eyebrow.
Clenching my jaw, I keep my mouth shut. I don’t need anything of the sort.
“I had to take a shower and asked if she needed anything. She said no, and then as I was coming back into the living room, she was crawling. Luckily, I managed to get her to the bathroom in time,” Elijah explains.
“We don’t need to talk about it,” I mutter, my cheeks getting red.
“I think we do. Why did you wait so long?” Brix asks. “It’s not healthy to hold it in for so long.”
“Da—” I clear my throat. “Elijah and I have already talked about it.”
“Well, I wasn’t here for that, so we get to talk about it now,” Brix points out.
Crossing my arms over my chest, I glare at him.
“Before I forget, Nora wants to hold our dicks when we pee,” Elijah says.
I gasp. “I did not say that!” I yell before turning back to Brix. “I did not say that!”
“She really did. I helped her pee by singing a song and said she could watch us pee if she wanted to. Then she asked to hold our dicks,” Elijah informs Brix.
Leaning forward, my face hits the couch, and I let out a scream into the cushion.
“Whoa, baby,” Brix gently says. “No need to be embarrassed. How about we go lay down in your bed and cuddle while you fall asleep?”
I shake my head. “I don’t need a nap.” I clench my jaw, forcing every word out.
“I think you do. I need to sleep, and Elijah is going to go to work in a couple of hours,” Brix points out.
My head turns to Elijah. “You have to work overnight?” I whisper.
It shouldn’t affect me this much, but it is. I have only known them for twenty-four hours, and I’m already attached.
Elijah comes over, cupping my face. “Yeah, little Bit. We’re working some overtime today and tomorrow so we can take some time off to spend with you,” he explains. “But I’ll be back by the time you wake up.”
“But you haven’t slept at all today,” I tell him.
“I haven't, which means I’ll have to sleep when I get home. Will you be good for Papa tonight while I’m gone?”
Guilt enters my body like a freight train. Was he not able to sleep today because I was here and he couldn’t trust that I would stay on the couch?
“I’m sorry,” I blurt out.
