“So, they’re not going to expect me to dress up like a Little today?” The words tumbled out before Elle could stop them. The raw anticipation threading through her voice was undisguisable as she already envisioned a day with no diapers and children’s clothes, even though she had managed to avoid the frilly dresses. That one attempt a while ago had been enough. She still shuddered, remembering how the yards of tulle had threatened to suffocate her.

Amanda’s disappointment wrapped in a sigh that drifted from her lips. “What are you still doing here, Elle?”

The chill in Amanda’s tone froze Elle mid-stretch. She began plucking at her fingers, a nervous habit she had developed since her arrival on the island, or if she was honest, a twinge to hide her guilt. Peering at her through sooty lashes, she mumbled, “I don’t know what you mean. You know why I’m here.”

“And yet you still haven’t embraced being their Little. They might not notice it, but your subtle attempts to sidestep the restrictions of a true Little haven’t escaped me. You don’t intend to be with them once the contract is over, do you?”

Elle’s pulse stuttered. She turned away from Amanda’s penetrating gaze, unable to hide the truth written across her face.

“I have a business to run and employees who need their jobs to survive. I worked too hard and gave up too much to throw all of that to the side to become a toy for two billionaires.” Her words came out more defensive and harsher than she intended.

“Is that what you think being a Little entails?” Amanda’s voice dropped lower, and the disappointment etched each word. “For that matter, is that truly how you think of your two Daddies? As two billionaires who want a living, breathing doll to play with?”

“Well…” Elle gestured toward the closet, her hand trembling slightly. “The rows of frilly dresses and ballet shoes still waiting to be worn tell the true tale, don’t they?”

“After all the time here and the way they have been treating and spoiling you, assuring you of the choices you have, you still don’t get it.” Amanda’s blue eyes turned to ice as her usually warm features hardened. “You’re going to break their hearts, Miss Fitzgerald, and even knowing it, you keep pretending you’re transitioning into the Little they so crave you to be. Shame on you.”

The words struck Elle like physical blows. A knot formed in her throat as the truth of Amanda’s accusations sank in. Shehad been playing a role, continuing to go through the motions while keeping one foot firmly planted in her exit strategy. The realization that Amanda had seen through her façade made her stomach churn.

Lord knew, it hadn’t been easy. Her own feelings had betrayed her. So much so that she didn’t know how she would be able to see it through and walk away when the time came.

Elle’s fingers curled into the soft blanket as her carefully constructed walls started to crumble.

“It’s not that simple.” Her voice cracked. “Yes, they’re gentle. Yes, they care. But what happens when they tire of me? When the novelty wears off?”

Amanda crossed her arms. “Is that what keeps you from surrendering? Fear?”

“No!” Elle pushed up from the bed with shaky arms. “I see how they look at me. How Daddy Drake’s hands linger when he changes me. How Daddy Damian’s voice drops lower when he scolds me.” Heat crept up her neck. “The way they both…” She swallowed hard. “But I can’t let myself need that. Need them.”

“Why not?”

“Because!” Elle climbed out of the crib to pace the nursery. “Every time Daddy Drake holds me after a spanking, and every time Daddy Damian reads me a bedtime story, I want to sink deeper into their care. Into their control.” Her breaths came faster. “Do you know what it’s like when Daddy Drake calls me his good girl or when Daddy Damian praises me for taking my punishment? It makes me wet, achy, and needy to be everything they desire.”

“And that terrifies you.”

“Of course it does!” Elle whirled to face Amanda. “I’m successful. Independent. I don’t need anyone taking care of me or telling me what to do. But when they put me in timeout, when they change my diaper, when they…” She pressed her thighstogether, remembering their touches. “I crave it. All of it. Their discipline. Their dominance. Their…” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “Their love.”

“Then why continue to fight it?”

“Because what if I give in? What if I let myself be their Little, truly be their Little, and they decide I’m not enough? That I’m too much work? Not the kind of Little they want.” Elle’s voice broke. “That I’m too me?”

Amanda’s expression softened. “Have you seen how they watch you? How their eyes follow your every move? How they structure their entire days around pleasing you? Those men aren’t looking for a temporary plaything, Elle. They’re looking for their forever Little.”

Elle sank onto the carpet, tugging at the bright red onesie. “I don’t know how to stop being scared.”

“Perhaps,” Amanda said gently, “that’s exactly what your Daddies are here to help you with.”

Elle’s fingers twisted in her onesie as Amanda’s words hung in the air. “Perhaps I need more time,” she whispered in a thin and brittle voice. “Time to truly understand their needs and my role in their lives.” Her chin lifted defiantly. “I can’t... I refuse to live a life where I have no control over every minute of my time.”

Amanda’s shadow fell across Elle’s huddled form as she stepped closer. “If that’s the case, I suggest you tell them... sooner rather than later.” Her lips compressed sternly. “Today might just be the turning point for you, Elle. Either you’ll embrace this lifestyle, or it’s going to chase you away for good.”

A cold dread crept up Elle's spine. “What do you mean?”

“The visitors are four couples…” Amanda paused as her gaze pinned Elle in place. “All Daddies with their Littles. It’s a games day visit.”

Elle’s mouth went dry. The words sounded ominous, and she suddenly found it hard to breathe. A game day... with otherDaddies and Littles. Her mind raced through possibilities. The phrase held a dark promise of a test she wasn’t sure she was ready to face.

“You’re scared.” Amanda’s voice cut through her spiraling thoughts. “Good. You should be. This isn’t about tea parties by the pool, Elle. Today, you’ll see what being a true Little means. What Drake and Damian have been so patiently waiting for.” She moved toward the door. “And when you do, you’ll have to decide… are you truly ready to submit to their world, or are you just a fraud?”
