“You should be,” I say, meaning it, and I ignore the fleeting thought about having Dean’s baby.

My ovaries can go kick rocks; I’m not having another kid.

Unless he wanted me to.

Jesus. Where did that thought come from?

I shake my head free of that idea as Missy tells us about how they’ll try naturally at first since the doctor is pretty confident they can make it happen without his assistance. My phone vibrates in my pocket, and I lean to the side to check it since I’m sure I know who it is.

Dean

Just thinking about how good you looked before you left. Wishing like hell I were spinning you on the floor.

My lips curve, my heart kicking up as I type back quickly.

Me

Same. But get this, Missy and Nyle are trying for a baby.

Dean

Well, that wasn’t on my bingo card.

Me

LOL Same. And then my ovaries were being little cunts, wanting to chuck eggs at you.

Do I catch them?

I snort loudly, which earns me the attention of my sister and his. Sadie pops a brow as Missy points to me. “Why are you grinninglike that at your phone?” I tuck my phone between my thighs as Sadie smirks, and Missy waggles her brows at me. “Wait, are you talking to a man? Not Stratfuck, right?”

My heart beats so hard, it makes my vision vibrate. I swallow hard, cutting my eyes to Sadie, who is sending me a reassuring look. My mouth is dry, but I refuse to feel like I’m doing something wrong.

Dean is not wrong. He’s what’s right in my world.

“It’s Dean,” I answer, and Missy rolls her eyes with a wave.

“Oh, I thought it was someone important.”

“He is important,” I say quickly, and she waves me off once again.

“No, I know. You know what I mean.”

Sadie nods in encouragement as I stare at my sister, who’s sipping her drink like I’m not trying to tell her I’m getting railed by her baby daddy. I draw a deep breath. “Yeah, but you don’t know what I mean.”

Missy looks up then, her brows pulling together. Her eyes search mine. “What?” My knee is bouncing so hard, the table is shaking. She places her hand on my thigh and sets me with a look. It’s as if I can see the moment when she knows what I’m saying. “Kenni, what the hell?”

“I didn’t mean for it to happen,” I say softly, but I’m looking her straight in her eyes. “But I don’t regret a thing.”

She barks out a laugh. “I can’t even.”

My heart sinks until Sadie says, “Miss, come on.”
