Conner’s gaze narrowed. “Next you’re going to tell me you were really just doing him a favor.”
The grin I flashed him didn’t help his eye situation.
“I’m going to pleadI was making him happy, Your Crazy.” That got a quiet laugh from Weston, which had Conner looking happier again.
“I approve of the therapist plan if it becomes necessary.” He wasn’t pissed anymore but I could see his brain whirling. “You’ve got two weeks to come back to the club and show me you’re doing fine together. If I don’t see you by that point, I will track down both of your frustrating asses.”
I wasn’t nearly as frustrating as Weston, but I knew it wasn’t the time to point that out.
“I think that’s reasonable.” But did Weston?
When he was quiet, Conner and I focused back on him and waited.
And waited.
“Is…” Weston swallowed, looking nervous but not the aroused kind. “Is that going to be long enough for you to know what you want?”
He really was a smart man, so I wasn’t sure why we kept running around in circles about this.
I was planning on giving him a polite response, but it took me too long, so Conner handled it in his own way.
“For fuck’s sake don’t be an idiot. He already wants to keep you. That’s what I’m worried about. He’s already got plans fora wonderfully humiliating collaring ceremony and you’re not grasping the fact that he even wants to date you.”
He had a very interesting way of defining problems.
“I was thinking naked and caged would be a good way to make sure he was in the right headspace and desperately horny.” And he’d look really sexy that way too. “It’d look really sweet.”
“Oh.” Weston blinked, his confused gaze bouncing between us. “Okay then.”
So we were good?
“I’m really starting to see why you two couldn’t start this relationship on your own.”
Yep, Conner might not be polite but he got straight to the heart of the matter.
Chapter 5
Weston
“I…” What had I been going to say? “I like dinner.”
My brain wasn’t catching up to reality, but the fact that I didn’t want it to was part of the problem. Cyrus seemed to know that based on the skeptical expression he was wearing but he didn’t point it out verbally. “I’m glad. I think this was a good idea.”
He was probably being too nice, but after the scolding Conner had given us both, I didn’t blame him. He didn’t seem to be worried in general, but my inability to function was probably making him second-guess what to do next.
He’d really thought about collaring me?
“What do you think about going to that action movie next week? I don’t remember the name but it has that hot actor you like.” Cyrus frowned like he was trying to figure out the name, but he didn’t like those movies and had a hard time with actors’ names in general.
“Sure.” He suffered through them for me on a regular basis, but we traded off being slightly bored. “That documentary you’re excited about is coming out at the end of the month, right? The one about World War II?”
His grandfather had gotten him hooked and I seemed to be his only friend who would watch them with him.
Wait.
Was that a date?
Were those two dates?
