“So, a week?” Liv stated. “Or close to that. You have to wonder why.”
“So you believe she is laying a trap?” I asked.
“Oh, yes,” Talon said. “I believe it. She could have an army there or some explosion set. Who the hell knows? The way she acted when she first got here…” He paused.
“What?” I asked him.
“She did not fight us…” He shook his head.
“Well, she did when she was slicing all those girls up,” Logan interjected as he looked a bit pale. “She killed so many before we got to her. She sliced some of our men up too. But Talon is right, when she arrived, she just laid there on that gurney and she only paid attention when she heard Rip speaking.”
“Yeah, she looked smug the entire time as she laid out everything,” Raven explained. “To show us how she was superior to us, ahead of us and fooled us. Used us and played games with us all through the years.”
“So this is a game too,” my father said.
“More than likely,” Talon agreed. “But this may be for keeps. Wipe out almost all the Walker men in one place.”
“That would be why the place has been kept a secret from you,” Liv spoke up. “The trap has to be set. She had this planned already.”
“Why would we all go?” Liberty asked.
The group all looked over at him.
“He has a point,” I said.
“Redemption and I will go,” my dad stated.
Talon and Liv stared at him.
“We go too,” Liv said.
Nodding Talon added, “We have more than just a vested interest in this.”
“I will be going too.”
We all looked over at the door to see Rip.
“Man, that might not be a good idea,” Talon replied.
“I think it is,” Rip said as he stepped into the room. “She claims she doesn’t want me harmed.” He gazed all around at his fellow Walkers on both sides. “So, if she does spring a trap to harm or kill…” He shrugged. “We all will pay the consequences.”
Some were shaking their heads.
Talon released a sigh. “Ok.”
“It might work?” Liv said. “But she hasn’t been able to communicate with her people recently.”
“You mean with her son, Deacon. If that is his name.” Rip stared at her.
“Have you spoken to O?” I asked Rip.
“Not since the first day she was brought here.”
“Maybe you should,” I suggested.
“Are you crazy?” Liv asked me. “He cannot stand to be in the same—”
“I can,” Rip cut her off. “But for what reason?”
