“Because why would Deacon choose Prophet’s dad? He had to have known about me and Prophet…like being together or he has seen us together!”

“Baby, calm down,” Prophet said as he came over to where I stood.

“No.” I shook my head. “This was all my fault. He did this because of...us. Because of me.”

“And we are going to use that,” Liv stated.

“Use it?” Prophet looked over at her.

“Yes,” Talon replied. “I was trying to tell you about this when she came in.”

I let out a trembling breath and said, “I will just go and sit over there.” I moved away from Prophet and sat down in an empty chair. I now felt kind of stupid for breaking in like that, but I needed to know what was happening.

The room was quiet.

I looked up and around at their faces. “This does involve me, right? So maybe I should be here. I need to know what my part is.” Folding my shaky hands in my lap, I refused to budge.

Liv gave me a nod. “I agree.”

Turning to look at Prophet, Talon said, “When the ranch was empty before, O actually stayed here for a time.”

“What?” Redemption asked. “She hid out here?”

“That was how outrageous she was.” Talon nodded. “We lost it for a time and she knew about that.”

“She came out here and actually set up a base,” Liv explained. “Had girls here to peddle off. Her Russian soldiers, Bull and she even had Katya captive here.”

“So what does that have to do with now?” Prophet asked.

“She had her men dig a tunnel.” Talon pointed to the far wall of the basement.

I frowned as I looked over at the wall. I didn’t understand what Talon was getting at.

“And?” Prophet asked him.

“And...she planned to have her men come in here at will.” Talon looked angry. “Plant a bomb or two and blow us to hell.”

I gasped as I raised my hand to my mouth. “While your families were here?”

Liv nodded. “She did not care about kids, babies or any of her planned victims.”

“Now, we can use that tunnel to our advantage as it is technically out of the camera's eye,” Logan explained. “It comes out by the road.”

“So Deacon won’t know when we leave,” Liv added.

I still wondered what they were getting at. I suppose I had no experience in subterfuge or well...any of this.

“So where are we going?” Prophet stared at Liv then at Talon.

“We will be using it in the plan,” Talon replied.

Prophet glared at him as he tossed his arms up. “Which I haven’t heard! So I’m a bit slow in this because I don’t know what the hell you’re getting at.”

“We are setting a trap,” Talon said.

Prophet cocked his head at him. “Using Jewel as bait.” It wasn’t a question.

Liv stepped closer to him. “If we play this right, we can follow him or his men right back to his new lair.”
