“He shot Wade and believe me when I say, Wade is dead. Deacon shot him right between the eyes.” I shuddered a bit at the cold look Deacon wore on his face at the time, but felt no remorse about Wade dying. In fact, I felt nothing but glad. The man would have never given up. He had been determined to have me with him until my bitter end. “I already knew Wade was dead though, the minute I realized Deacon had just used him in his plan.”

“Then what?” Talon asked me as he never took his eyes off me.

“Deacon told us to get into the Camaro and leave,” I explained. “He motioned to some large man who stood over by the wall and told us that he would pull the lever to have the car go up.”

“So, this place is underground too?” Liberty asked.

Nodding, I continued, “It is. So after we got in, the car raised up and I drove out of there.”

“Like a bat out of hell,” Belle added. “I thought we were going to wreck when we spotted you coming at us.” She turned to stare at Justice.

He shrugged as he didn’t look sorry. “All I wanted was my girl back.”

“Ok, we go back and check this underground compound first,” Talon announced.

“Why?” Belle asked. “I just want to go home now.”

Liberty turned and glared at her. “Damn girl, did you not just hear what they said? Deacon will find out where the Walker family is hiding.”

She pursed her lips and shook her head.

“Oh?” Liberty scoffed. “So, you don’t care that he will drop a bomb on top of an entire family?”

“He wouldn’t do that,” she argued. “He’ll probably have warrants and agents there to arrest you all.”

“Oh, my fucking God!” Liberty tossed his hands up in disgust. “Are you sure you're related to Scarlet? Cause, you sure as hell aren’t as smart as she is!”

Turning to face Liberty, Belle glared at him. “No, I’m smarter than she is, you stupid oaf. Because I see through men like you. She…” Belle suddenly halted and looked over at me as she realized what she had just said.

I stared at her. “Go ahead. Tell them about my dumb mistakes with trusting the wrong guys. Tell them how I fell for their lies and paid for that in the end.”

“Scarlet,” Belle said as tears filled her eyes. “I didn’t mean—”

“Yes, you did,” I said as I stepped closer to her. “The thing is…this time it is you who fell for lies and trusted the wrong man. Just stop and think for a minute. Why didn’t Deacon arrest all of them today? He knew they were coming. Yet, he flew away.”

She shrugged. “Maybe he didn’t have enough men?”

“Oh, I think he did,” I countered. “I mean did you see his men, Belle?”

She nodded. “Yeah, why?”

“Cause I did too and he had at least thirty there with him and they were all armed,” I said. “He could have made this so-called bust today, if that was what he was really after.”

“Were they American?” Justice asked.

Belle kept shaking her head in confusion. “What does that have to do with…” She now looked a bit pale. “No…they weren’t American.”

“Right, because they were Russian,” Talon finally joined in on the discussion. “O created a Russian army to help her take Ramton over and anywhere else she planned to doom. Deacon now leads that army. They couldn’t be FBI men.”

Belle looked lost as it finally seemed to sink in that Deacon wasn’t the hero here.

“That part doesn't matter now, though,” Talon said. “We need to see this underground compound.”

“He wouldn’t leave any loose ends, brother and you know that,” Dagger told him. “You won’t find anything there to help us.”

“Maybe not, but we may need a place to hide out now,” Talon replied.

“What?” I asked. “You mean use his lair to hide from him?” They had done that with the Connor House. He had used it, then left. So the Walkers went there to hide.
