“I got chairs!” Justice called from the garage area as he motioned to a stack of metal chairs, sitting up against the garage double doors.

“I found cold water bottles in the house,” Liberty added while raising a small grocery bag as he headed over to the garage.

I turned Belle around and said, “Come on.”

She followed as I made my way over to Justice. All four of us sat down and ate in silence for a few ravenous minutes.

“Yum, I haven’t had a fast food burger in a couple of months.” I crumpled my wrappers as I sat back and opened my bottle of water.

“Feel better, babe?” Justice asked me as he opened his water too.

“Much, we have been going all day and we barely ate breakfast.”

“I had eggs Benedict, waffles and fruit for breakfast,” Belle said.

We all looked over at her.

She glanced up to see us staring at her.

“Well, not everyone gets the five star treatment like that,” Liberty quipped. “Deacon only lives first class, ya know?” He rolled his eyes. “From blood money, drug cash, and selling young girls.”

Belle stared at him. “I just cannot believe he does all of that.”

“Well, believe it,” Justice said. “I saw all the files they had on him when we were at the ranch. His mother built it all, but he has taken it over it seems.”

“It seems,” Belle said.

“Listen, girl,” Liberty said as he glared at her. “That hotel, your breakfast, his helicopters and all those men… Do you honestly think he pays for all of that out of petty cash from the FBI?”

Slowly shaking her head, Belle looked down at her hands. “I don’t know what to think.” Raising her head, she looked at me and Justice. “You have to realize that I was shown proof of what he claimed. For over three weeks, I got to know him. He truly seemed genuine.”

“And where did these meetings take place?”

We all looked up to see Talon standing there.

“What?” Belle asked him as she looked confused.

“Was it always at that hotel?” He stared at her.

Shaking her head, Belle said, “Um, no.”

Looking over at me and Justice, Talon said, “We need to debrief her. She could have information that would help us.”

“Debrief?” I asked him.

“Yes, it means we question her and she answers those questions,” he explained.

Belle stood from her chair and faced him. “Look, I am not a criminal and I didn’t do anything wrong here.”

Talon slowly shook his head. “While that may be true, Deacon is a criminal and he has done plenty wrong. We can use all the Intel we can get on him.”

“Can it wait until after we get some rest?” I asked him as I stood from my chair.

“She may know things that can help us to combat him, Scarlet. If so, we might avoid a bloody battle against his men.”

“Fine,” Belle snapped. “Grab a chair and start your interrogation, Mr. Walker.” She sat down and grabbed her water from the ground.

I looked over at her. “Are you sure, Belle?”
