“How many?” Talon asked him

“Looks like…” Logan paused. “...at least thirty men. Maybe?”

“Do you see anything in the skies?” Talon asked.

“Not so far.”

Scarlet reached over and shoved her hands into my jeans pocket.

Jumping at the contact, I stared at her.

She smiled as she raised up her earpiece and placed it on. Then her smile disappeared as Logan was still giving us the bad news, “They seemed to have mounted cannons on two of the SUV’s.”

I looked up to see the Rebel Saints gearing up. Tank and another Rebel Saint were pulling out the surface to air missile stands as more men moved toward the fence to get into defensive spots.

“Well, no time for the basement, sugar,” Liberty told Belle as he rushed over to one of the trucks to grab a machine gun and extra rolls of ammunition.

I wanted to join him but I wondered what to do with Scarlet and her sister.

Talon shook his head. “Ranger, get the jeep and drive these two into the brush.”

“What?” Scarlet said as he looked over at me. “No!”

“Yeah,” Talon retorted. “And we have no time for a discussion. Take your sister and get into that jeep.” He pointed to where Ranger was getting into it.

Scarlet looked over at me.

“Go on, babe.” I nodded as I leaned in and hugged her. “If you and her are here, I won’t be able to fight.”

Scarlet was a smart girl as I already knew. She grasped my cheeks to kiss me quickly then pulled away. Grabbing Belle’s hand, she dragged her over to the jeep. The two sisters got in then Ranger hightailed it to the far side of the driveway and went off road. Dust flew up as he raced away through the brushlands.

Talon was already at the weapon’s truck.

I was right there next to him as I grabbed a machine gun, ammunition and a grenade belt. I already had two guns on me, but this was going to be an all out war.

“You know how to use all that?” Tank asked me.

“Hell yeah, he does,” Liberty spoke up as he too grabbed a grenade belt. “He trained with the rest of us. Dad placed him into Harvard, but he also made sure he knew how to use almost every weapon made.”

“Good,” Talon said as he geared up. “Rebels, you all better be wearing your Kevlar!” he stated into the comm.

Liberty and I glanced at each other and then reached for the Kevlar vests.

We all could hear the roar of engines now as they were coming up the road, so Liberty and I rushed to get the vests on then we took a spot behind the fence.

This was a long way from a courtroom and a long way from the peace of Sugarland. But I was ready for it.

The army as you would call it came barreling up. There were several vehicles and yes they had cannons, then there were a long line of cycles coming up behind those.

My attention remained on the mounted cannons as they turned toward the house.

A rocket launched missile sailed over our heads and hit one of them, the SUV blew apart and metal rained down. The other SUV managed to get its missile off and it headed for the house. Hitting the mark. The front part of the large estate splintered and half the house was gone in an instant. Dust, smoke and debris scattered out for hundreds of feet all around. Finally, Tank nailed that cannoned SUV with his rocket launcher. It joined its twin as a metal mess.

Men poured in on bikes while shooting at us.

I rose up as did Liberty and at least ten other Rebels. We laid into them with our machine guns.

The sound of gunfire grew to deafening as the war was full on. Bikes slid sideways and men died. Smoke covered everything. I knew it was dangerous, but I fucking loved it. I fired away at what seemed to be easy targets. Then more came and I lobbed grenades as did my brother. The air got so thick with smoke that we could hardly see.
