Chuckling, I looked over at Daisy. “I am your guy as well, Daze. I am committed to being the best doggie servant ever.”

Briget laughed as she shook her head. “Are you for real?”

I stared up at her and vowed, “If you will give me a chance, I will be all that you want or need.” I lowered my head and turned her hand over to gently kiss her palm.

She shivered. “Well, I do know that no one has ever made me feel like you do.”

I was immediately curious. “What do you mean?”

Her face went pink as she replied, “I can’t explain it. All I know is I’ve decided to give us a chance.”

I patted her hand and stood. I needed to back off a little. I didn’t want her to feel like I was coming on too strong. I know she said she would give us a chance, but I could still scare her off. “I’m so glad. Despite how it started, this has turned out to be a really good day. And in the last few months, there hasn’t been many of those. I got to come home and I got you as my girl.”

Shaking her head, Briget looked surprised. “No one has ever said the things you do.”

“I sure as hell, hope not,” I replied with a laugh as I went over to my small kitchen and took out some plates. Then I got some napkins and set them on the dining table.

We sat and ate.

“This is like a really roomy apartment,” Bridget commented.

“They are all built like this,” I told her. “The men have their own places here.”

“Very nice. How many members does the Requiem have?”

“About twenty besides me and my brothers, Zed, Prophet and Legend.”

“Wow, and that they all work in your dad’s businesses?”

I nodded. “Well, it’s a consortium now. My dad doesn’t own them anymore.”

“So they belong to the MC?”

“Yeah, he has his own nest egg for retirement and he’s set.”

We finished our meal and a knock came on the door. I got up and went over to open it.

One of the men brought our bags and set them down just inside the doorway.

“Thanks Reb,” I told him.

“We are glad to see you guys home again,” Rebel, one of the Requiem brothers, said as he shook my hand.

“Thanks man,” I replied as I dropped his hand then grabbed the bags and brought them in.

“Oh, wonderful,” Bridget said as she came over and took her suitcase from me.

“Um, you don’t mind staying in my room?” I asked her.

She stopped and turned to look at me. “I guess I'm okay with it.”

“I can get you a room of your own if you want?” In my head, it sounded right. But deep down, I wanted her to stay with me.

“Y-you don’t want me here?” she asked in a small voice as she looked upset.

I dropped my bag and backpacks to step over and grab her up. “I want to be with you all the time. Live with you, sleep beside you. I will take whatever time you will give to me.”

She smiled up at me and said, “I’ll stay.”
