“Oh, I bet he does.” Legend laughed.

Duke was a Requiem Lieutenant. A very large fellow with a grumpy disposition. Tough looking. Scowls and tatts. Most wouldn’t want to face him in a dark alley or even a well lit one. He had an odd phobia though. He didn’t like dogs. Not sure if it was just dogs or all animals. In fact, I had noticed that since Daisy had come and was the boss running the main room now, Duke had been out as a fence guard most of the time.

One day about six months ago, I brought in a stray dog. I found him out on the road just before I got to the compound. Just a mutt really and not a large one but he was black with a white stripe down his tail. I jokingly called him Skunky. Duke came in, saw him and called him a shitty excuse for a dog. He leaned down and actually growled at the dog, who sat at my feet. Skunky thought he was acting aggressively, possibly against me. So he went after Duke.

The biker stood at 6 foot 5 and probably weighed over two hundred and eighty. Yet, despite his size, he yelped like a kid and acted afraid of that little dog. Pulling his weapon from his waistband, he cocked it.

I thought…Oh no, he didn’t. I kicked the gun out of his hand and with a roundhouse kick I had him down on his back.

Skunky went off barking and growling, biting at his ankle.

The entire clubhouse witnessed this little dog and large predator circus as they all laughed.

“Nah, I don’t like bullies,” I told Legend as he laid beside me.

He snickered. “Just don’t beat my dad up, ok? I mean he will deserve it and you will want to, believe me. But beating up a mobster is probably not a good idea.”

I snuggled up closer to him. “I’ll try.”

“Well, I won't bother telling you not to talk back to him or argue with him. Cause I already know it is gonna happen.” Legend wrapped an arm around me. “But I am going to request that you try to ignore his ego.”

“I’ll try but he best not pick on you.” I kissed his bare chest.

Legend chuckled. “So I’m skunky now, huh?”

I laughed with him as I tisked. “Heck, no. You aren’t nearly as cute.”

We both cracked up at this idea.

“I’m sorry but growing a stripe on my ass is just not in the cards for me,” he joked.

This concept was too funny for me as I almost howled with laughter.

After a minute of my crazy giggling, Legend asked, “So whatever happened to Skunky by the way?”

I swiped away my tears of hilarity and replied, “Zed took him to his ranch. He now herds cows.”

“Not a surprise actually. The mutt had no fear, I do remember that.”

“Nope, so big ole bulls don’t scare him either.”

“Oh, I knew that already. If I ever met a human bull it would be Duke.”

Again, we chuckled.

“I love this,” Legend said as he too had a tear on his cheek. “Being with you. Being able to laugh and joke around. Just having you beside me.”

“Oh, well you may get sick of me yet. Cause you are never getting rid of me, boy.”

He smirked at me. “I haven’t been aboyfor a while now, Glory.”

“Maybe, but let’s just say that I had planned for us to be like this ever since youwerea boy.”

He smirked then braced my face with both hands to kiss me.

I fell into the kiss with breathless anticipation, rewarded with that yummy taste of Legend and his hot kissable mouth. Damn right, he was my boy, my man, myeverything.

The kiss lasted until we had to come up for air.
