And yet, she wasn’t sure that anything could ever be more perfect.

Percy did as he asked, lying down on the bed, although she held herself up on her elbows, too curious about what he was planning to do to completely give herself over. He followed her like a hunter after its prey, climbing over her – but not all the way up. Instead, he stopped, lifted her skirts – and then dived beneath them.

“What are you doing?” she asked, instantly shocked out of her languid passion.

“I am giving you the pleasure you deserve.”

“I deserve?”

“That you deserve,” he repeated, before pausing a beat. “And that I must give you.”

“But—”

His head appeared over the layers of fabric.

“Do you trust me?”

“Yes,” she answered without hesitation.

A rare grin crossed his face as he reached up and removed his spectacles, placing them on the table beside them. “Good,” he said, and then disappeared from her sight once more.

His hands came to her thighs, spreading them apart, holding her open to him, and then at the first stroke of his tongue, her entire body nearly arched off the bed.

“Noah!” she cried out, but when he lifted a hand and placed a finger over her lips, she clamped them close together, although she couldn’t help the soft moans that escaped her as he continued. At first, it was nearly too much as she squirmed beneath him, but she began to relax into it – although it wasn’t long until an intensity was building within her, one that was so incredible she almost wondered how it could be possible.

It happened so fast, so forcefully that she nearly cried. As the sensations flooded through her, she had to grab a pillow and place it over her face, biting into the fabric to try to stem the emotion that was spilling through her lips.

Her eyes were still closed when Noah’s weight dipped the bed beside her, and she wished she could keep her eyes closed, for she was suddenly far too shy to look at him.

But then he reached out and trailed his fingers over her cheek, turning her head towards him.

“Percy?” he said in a low voice. “Are you all right?”

She had no choice but to open her eyes then, and she knew that she’d had nothing to fear. His expression was reassuring and languid, and she wondered how she had missed this man for so long.

“I am more than all right,” she said dreamily. “I am… floating.”

He chuckled, lying down beside her, and she sat up, her energy slowly returning.

She unbuttoned the top of his shirt and trailed her fingers down his exposed chest, wanting to see what she had only felt before.

“Percy…” he reached up, grabbing her fingers. “What are you doing?”

“You got to play,” she said coyly. “Now it’s my turn.”

She tried to tug her hand away, but he only held it firmer. “You don’t have to,” he said, shaking his head, and she sat up before straddling his hips, pushing him down, one hand on his chest.

“I know that,” she retorted, “but I want to.”

He leaned back then, crossing his arms behind his head, giving himself to her.

She smiled wickedly. In this moment, he was hers.

And she was going to take full advantage of it.

CHAPTER17

Noah had lived this moment in his fantasies, but he had never been naïve enough to think it could come true.
