She leaned closer, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek before pulling back. “Don’t worry… I know,” she murmured.
Sebastian’s lips curved into a small, satisfied smile. Emily rose on her toes, pressing her lips to his in a bold, lingering kiss, her hand cupping his cheek as if trying to anchor herself to him.
His hand slid to her waist, fingers grazing the curve of her side, pulling her impossibly closer. He dipped in, lips brushing hers again, teasing, tasting, before his mouth moved to her ear. “I can’t wait for tonight,” he murmured, voice low and husky, sending a shiver down her spine.
She clutched his shoulders, fingers digging in slightly, unable to stop the fluttering heat coursing through her. Then he stole one more kiss, leaving her breathless.
The sudden creak of the office door startled them. Jacob froze in the doorway, eyes wide, catching them in the act. Behind him, a few employees lingered, but Emily and Sebastian were out of their sight.
Emily panicked and tried to pull away, but Sebastian’s arms tightened around her waist, holding her firmly against him. Jacob immediately covered his eyes and backed out of the office, shutting the door behind him. Emily buried her face in Sebastian’s chest, her cheeks burning.
“I told you…” she began, her voice rising slightly as she tried to hide her flushed face.
Sebastian was unaffected. A faint, amused twitch tugged at the corner of his lips at the sight of her embarrassment. He reached out, tilting her chin up with his fingers until her eyes locked on his.
Then he leaned in, brushing his mouth over hers in a soft kiss at first—light, teasing—before his lips pressed harder, parting hers. His tongue traced the edge of her bottom lip before sliding past, tasting her slowly, deliberately, his thumb grazing her jaw as if to hold her there until he was done.
When she finally broke the kiss, her breath came uneven, lips tingling as she murmured softly, “Leave now. I’ll make sure our names aren’t linked online… to save you from any backlash.” Her palms stayed against his chest, feeling the faint thrum of his heartbeat under her hands.
Sebastian’s hands locked firmly around her waist, pulling her close. One hand slid up to cradle her face, his thumb brushing her cheek. His lips hovered near hers as his low, steady voice rumbled, “I don’t care who finds out. If anything happens, you call me. I’ll handle it. You won’t have to worry about a thing, baby.”
Emily’s fingers clenched lightly on his shirt as her heart raced. Whenever she was with Sebastian, the world felt so simple. With Lucas, it was always his business, his reputation first, andthen her—but Sebastian… he never hesitated to put her first, no matter what. She was his priority in every way, and each time he showed it through his actions, her heart soared.
Sebastian leaned down, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. Pulling back, his arms relaxed at his sides.
“Alright, I’ll leave now… but I’ll pick you up after work,” he murmured.
He stepped back, giving her one last lingering glance before turning and walking out of her office, his presence slowly fading from the room.
Emily watched him go, a small smile tugging at her lips.
He was barely out of sight, and yet she already missed him.
Chapter 23 Jealousy
The headquarters of Empire Group was quiet, the kind of stillness that made every footstep echo through the modern, sleek hallways. Sebastian stormed through, his pace urgent, heading straight to his office. The nameplate on the door—matte black with raised silver letters that gleamed under the overhead lights—simply read:Sebastian Graves,President, perfectly matching the modern architecture inside.
He entered swiftly, Leon close behind him. “Take down every damn video about Emily and Lucas immediately,” Sebastian barked, his voice sharp with anger. “I don’t want a trace of it left online. Make sure nothing about them circulates anywhere.”
Just then, the door opened again, and Adam stepped in. He stopped in front of Sebastian’s desk as Leon left the room. “Who is this bastard, constantly posting videos of my sister? I’m tired of replying to all these haters in the comments!”
Sebastian pulled out his phone, placing it on the desk, then adjusted his cuff while replying calmly, “Don’t worry. I’ve taken care of all of them.”
Adam looked at Sebastian, surprise and happiness written across his face. “So it’s you who’s been deleting all those videos about my sister?” he asked, a mix of excitement and relief in hisvoice. “No wonder they kept disappearing before I could take any action!”
Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he paused for a moment. Leaning forward with his hands braced on the desk, his eyes narrowed with suspicion, he asked, “Sebastian… you don’t have a girlfriend, right? I can’t help but wonder… do you have a crush on me or something? Doing all these favors for me out of nowhere?”
Sebastian’s lips curved into a small, amused smile. He folded his arms across his chest and looked down at Adam, one brow raised. “I do have a crush,” he said, “but not on you. On my girlfriend. Everything I do is for her.”
Adam blinked, stunned. “Wait… hold on a minute. I thought you were joking about that! You talk about your girlfriend a thousand times a day, but you haven’t introduced her to anyone—not even your family. If you love her that much, why doesn’t anyone know she exists?”
Sebastian’s gaze softened. “I was planning to visit my parents today, but my girlfriend isn’t ready to meet them yet. So I’ll wait until she is.”
Adam sank into a chair, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. “Hmm… I feel like your girlfriend is just playing with your heart. Otherwise, why wouldn’t she want to meet your parents if she were serious about your relationship?” He looked at Sebastian with a teasing grin. “Maybe she’s just taking advantage of you for your body.”
Sebastian mirrored his grin, then circled the desk, sliding an arm around Adam’s shoulder. Leaning in close to Adam’s ear, he answered, “Brother… I’d advise you not to badmouth your sister-in-law. I have a feeling you’re going to regret it later.”
Adam frowned at once.
