Maya crossed her arms, and sighed dramatically. “I wish I was the one who did it. But I didn’t.”

Björn stared at her. If looks could kill, Maya would be dead on the spot. “That better be true. If it turns out to be you, I’ll strangle you!”

“You can dream about that, honey. That’s not happening,” Maya replied nonchalantly, infuriating Björn even further.

“Remember my words well.” Björn pointed his finger at her. “If it’s your fault, you’re done.”

“Fuck you! And fuck your dead bitch!”

“Shut up, cunt! You’re dead!”

“Go to hell!”

Björn was about to storm out of the prison when he heard a male voice: “You’re looking in the wrong place. The killer is still free.”

Björn stopped in his tracks and turned. There he saw Scarlett’s husband sitting on the floor in one of the cells. He barely recognized him; the man changed drastically after all what happened to him.

“Still Free?” Björn asked, surprised. He wanted to ask the man if he was the one who killed his own wife, but at the same time he was curious about what he had to say.

“Yeah. He was in the cell but got released for some reason.”

Björn stiffened, and the man proceeded, “It’s probably that Asian guy. His name is Ryosuke.”

Björn thought about who it could be. He remembered there were several people from Asia, so he would have to find out who exactly was Ryosuke and where his room was.

Two days later the Geiger counter still showed fairly high radiation levels outside the bunker. Liam and Edvin entered the comms room to check the signal as well. They turned on the radio and cringed at the hissing.

“Wish me luck.” Edvin grabbed the microphone and spoke:

“Hello? Can anyone hear me?”

Only static came from the speakers.

“Hello?” Edvin tried again.

He changed several stations, but all ended up with the same result.

“Looks like you’re having less luck than me, eh.”

Edvin’s brows furrowed, but he wasn’t giving up. While he tried to get in contact with the outside world, they sipped their morning coffee.

“I guess everyone has the day off today,” Liam broke the silence between them.

Edvin released a heavy sigh and put the microphone down.

Liam patted him on the back and stood up. “We should go. We’ll give it a try again tomorrow.”

The bar buzzed with mixed voices, clinking of glasses and bottles.

Björn looked around the dim light space, and when his eyes caught sight of a certain brunette, he smiled to himself and left his spot at the bar. He took a bottle of beer with him and confidently strolled between full tables.

“Hello, ladies,” he said. “It’s a pleasure to see you.”

“Good evening, Mr. Landberg,” Valeria greeted first. Leticia looked at her, puzzled, then shot a look in Björn’s direction. “Hi.”
