“What are you doing? You said you’re freeing me.”

“The doctor will check you first before we let you go.”

Once Maya was released she went to her room. She wished she had another place to stay, but she gritted her teeth and decided to put up with it. When she entered her living space, she saw Björn sitting on the bed with the laptop in his lap. His upper body was bare, and the rest covered with a blanket. The way he shifted it was obvious what he was doing before she interrupted him.

“Your parents didn’t teach you to knock?” he complained.

“I see you’re having a good time without me.” Maya crossed her arms stopping in the middle of the room ignoring his comment.

“It’s none of your business.”

“Really?”

“How are you out?”

“Because I’m innocent, duh.”

“So it’s that guy, after all,” Björn muttered.

“Which guy?”

“Never mind.” Björn shut the laptop and put it on the bedside table. “By the way, you’re not staying with me in this room.”

“What? And where I’m supposed to go?”

He shrugged. “Find another room.”

“You can’t do this to me!” Maya spread her arms. In a way she expected this to happen, but she secretly hoped everything between them would return to normal. As normal as it could be.

“I can. You didn’t even pay for the room. You’re only here because Lennart let you come with me. He can take you into his room. I wouldn’t care.”

“But, but you promised me…”

“I changed my mind,” Björn stated, obviously unbothered. “We’re breaking up.”

Maya gasped and her face turned red.

“Y-you! Asshole!” she shrieked, her eyes becoming wet. She lunged at Björn, fists ready to punch.

Ryosuke almost jumped from his chair when a loud bang echoed through the room. The pounding repeated, and he wondered if he should go answer the door, or ignore the aggressive knocking.

Whoever knocked wasn’t giving up, so Ryosuke reluctantly got up to answer. He was sure that this person was looking for Lennart and that it might be very important.

The man on the other side was someone he had not seen before. “Yes?” Ryosuke said, but the man pushed him back with such force he almost fell backward and entered the room.

What is he doing?

“You’re Ryosuke, aren’t you?” The man glared at him.

Ryosuke hesitated. “Yes?”

Who is this man and what does he want?

“Why did you kill Scarlett?”
