Scarlett stood by the bar for a while, enjoying her time alone. When she thought it was time to go, she pushed through the crowd and soon realized she wasn’t sure where their table was located. She looked all over the place and spotted one particular face. She smiled to herself and walked forward.

“Hey, pretty boy!” Scarlett stopped beside the table. Ryosuke turned to look at her, visibly surprised, and the woman beside him shot her a dirty look. “Excuse me?”

Scarlett glanced at her and turned back to Ryosuke. “Is this your girlfriend?”

“I’m not his girlfriend. I’m his fiancé!” The woman said proudly flashing her ring in Scarlett’s face, hoping it would discourage her.

“A fiancé? How sweet.” Scarlett smirked and gave her an unbothered look. She focused back at Ryosuke, put her right hand on his shoulder and drank the wine from her left.

“Ryosuke, what’s this?”

Ryosuke shook his head. “Nothing…” He seemed at a loss for words.

“Then what does this woman want?”

“I don’t know.” Ryosuke said and turned to Scarlett. “Maybe she just came to say hello?”

“Well, of course I came to say hello! Can’t I?” Scarlett smiled and ran her fingers through Ryosuke’s silky hair.

“No. You can fuck off!” The visibly shorter woman jumped up from her seat.

“Oh, you have a very rude girlfriend, Ryo,” Scarlett said disapprovingly and shook her head.

“Leave my fiancé alone!”

“I can talk to whoever I want.”

“No. You can’t!” The woman said and grabbed her own drink and threw it into Scarlett’s face.

“Wha–?” Scarlett gasped in shock.

“Serves you right. Whore!”

“Why would you do that?” Ryosuke rose to his feet.

“She deserved it!”

“My dress is ruined! Look what she did!” Scarlett looked down at her soaked cleavage. The stain was clearly visible against her chic white cocktail dress.

“I can see, and I’m sorry. Do you have some tissues?” Ryosuke asked the two other girls at their table. They looked at him perplexed and both shook their heads.

“No, we don’t. Leave her like that,” Ryosuke’s fiancé snapped.

“I’m not going to leave it. I’m not that kind of a person,” Ryosuke said, then turned to Scarlett. “Come with me.”

“What? Where are you going?” The woman shouted, taken aback by his conduct. Her eyes widened and her fists clenched at her sides.

Ryosuke switched to Japanese. “You made this mess for no reason, Ayame, I’m going to help her clean up.”

“Really?” Ayame replied in the same language as more people started to look in their direction. “You’re going to help her and leave me here?” She bit her lip, clearly full of rage.

Scarlett didn’t understand what they were talking about, but she had a hunch.

“Ayame, please.”

But his fiancé only crossed her arms and glared at him.

“Let’s go,” Ryosuke said as calmly as he could and motioned for Scarlett to walk towards the bathroom. He followed closely behind her, catching her as she drunkenly stumbled. The roomswayed against his own drunken haze, but he managed to help the clearly sloshed Scarlett toward their destination.
