She’s sweet, kind, loving, loyal, and there’s this nurturing nature of hers that I’ve always loved. Still, with all that, even if she didn’t know it, she loved when I’d take control and take care of her. She never asked for it, but when I offered it willingly, I’d see the grateful look in her eye, the sweet, excited smile, and how easily she would agree.

As for me? I’ve felt this Alpha vibe for a while now. Honestly, I could present as anything, and with my eighteenth birthday coming up, I’ll know very soon.

“And the winner of Battle of the Internet Stars is...”

My head spins, making me sway towards Ryker. He gives my hand a reassuring squeeze. My eyes flick up to him, and he gives me a wink, letting me know that no matter how this competition ends, we’re going to be okay. That my new friends won’t drop me.

The same goes for them.

Even though we’ve been after the same thing, not once has it ever felt like we were working against one another. If anything, we’ve been working together.

I’m not sure if I’d have been able to make it this far without their friendship, encouragement, and support.

“Alisha Williams!”

My eyes widen as my stomach threatens to roll.

Arms wrap around me as clapping fills the room. “Congrats, Spitfire!” Skyler cheers, engulfing me in a hug. “You did it!”

“I did it?” I blink in shock, staring at his chest, dumbfounded.

“Fuck yeah, you did!” Ryker laughs, clapping me on the back. “You’re fucking amazing!”

“Honestly, I knew it was going to be you. I mean, how could it not be? That song you sang during the last round?” Tyson shakes his head. “We never stood a chance.”

Biting my lower lip, tears well in my eyes. “Holy fuck.” I laugh, taking a step back and running a shaky hand through my hair. “I won.”

“You won.” Skyler winks.

That means... that means I’m staying. Not only am I staying. I won a fucking recording contract.I did it. I fucking did it!

“I think I’m going to be sick,” I whisper.

“Sit. Sit,” Becky says, encouraging me to sit down. I do, taking a seat in the chair behind me.

“Holy shit,” I whisper, still in shock. “Is this real?”

“Sure is!” Becky grins. “And it’s very much deserved. Honestly, if you never submitted your audition, we most likely would have signed you anyways if we found your videos on your YouTube channel. You have pure, raw talent, Ally. Use it. Embrace it.”

“And be a motherfucking star,” Ryker chuckles.

I smile up at him, whole body trembling with adrenaline. I’m still in astonishment about the whole thing.

I’m the type of person who never expects things, but wishes and works hard for them. While I always have hope, I never bank on anything in life. It only leads to disappointment if things don’t go how I’d like them to. For the most part, I’m a pretty humble person.

Not sure how that's going to go over in a world like this, but I guess I’ll see.

“So, what happens next?” I ask Becky.

She looks towards the guys, then back to me.

“We’ll meet up later?” Skyler asks.

“Wait.” I get to my feet. Swallowing hard, I look between the guys. “Are you okay? Are we okay?” My stomach turns with nerves. I know they said this before, that no matter what the outcome would be, it wouldn’t affect the new friendship we’ve built, but now that the competition is over, and the winner has been decided, what if they changed their minds?

“Relax, Tiny.” Tyson ruffles my hair. “You’re still our number one girl.”

My shoulders relax, and a warmth fills my chest. “Really? Are you sure?”
