“She’s the missing link Wise! She was the final child, the baby girl.” She said hitting him in the heart where it hurt. “Don’t shoot him Wise, let God deal with his ass.” She turned her nose up.
Wise’s body shook uncontrollably, he didn’t know how to take that news. He’d planned on finding the last sibling, he wanted to meet her, hug her, hold her and protect her like he promised to do Brook’Lynn and now he had to find out that she was right up under his nose and now she was dead? “My fucking sister though B? So, you mean to tell me I’m about to bury my own fucking blood? Man, I wasn’t supposed to find out like this.” He shook his head trying to fight back his own tears, “not like this,” he repeated himself pressing harder.
“Wise!” Brook’Lynn walked closer noticing that Brody was losing a lot of blood. “Let God deal with him Wise, don’t kill him, just get me out of here before I lose my baby.” She bent over in pain from the slight cramps she was feeling.
Brody opened his eyes looking into her face trying hard to ignore the pain, baby?
“He don’t even deserve to be here, get the fuck out, you got ten seconds.” Wise backed away giving him a chance to leave in peace. “Fuck outta here.” He looked over in disgust.
Making his way out the door, he looked at his three kids one more time before walking out. He would’ve told Wise about his lil young ass but he needed to get to the street doctor quick to get his arm looked and quick cause he felt himself going weak, it wasn’t the first time he’d been shot but no matter which time, it definitely felt like the first. He walked out leaving a blood trail behind him.
“You aiight?” Wise asked Brook’Lynn worried about her.
She nodded her head and looked over at Bugg one more time. “Go give your proper goodbye so we can go.”
Wise slowly walked to the casket and simply reached over kissing Bugg on her cold cheek. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be there, baby girl and if I’d known, it would’ve been different. Rest well princess.”
With that, they both walked out leaving the church as is, they didn’t clean up no blood or shit. If it was traced back to Brody then so be it, he’d have to figure that shit out and answer to whoever.
“Clean this shit upso we can get the fuck on.” Perfect counted up the last little bit of money, he’d been dodging the shit out of Rasta for the past couple of days and he was about to dodge his ass again because he was about to go check on his pregnant girl. “What’s up baby?” He answered for her, listening to her talk, his whole demeanor changed, although he was still low key pissed at her, he wasn’t gon’ act like a bitch ass nigga with bitch ass ways cause no doubt about it, it wasn’t no bitch in him at all. “Wait what? Calm down Brook, what the fuck you mean? You okay? I’m on my way.” He hung up and rushed out of the spot. “Yo Boom! Tell C2 to call me when he gets here!” He yelled over his shoulder without looking back at him.
Rushing down the halls of the hospital, he made it to Brook’Lynn’s room where Wise was sitting right next to her with his head hanging like he had a lot on his mind and in reality, he did. His daddy was gay as fuck, his newfound baby sister was dead, and his other sister was laid up next to him notknowing whether her baby was gonna make it or not. Yeah, life was a bitch right now. “Yo man, shits fucked up.” Wise stood up looking around before he spoke again, whispering, he told Perfect. “She shot Brody.”
“Get the fuck out of here,” Perfect said in disbelief. “She should’ve killed his ass.” He walked over to Brook’Lynn where she was all hooked up to an IV with the monitors around her stomach, bending down he placed his lips on her cheek. “What’s wrong with daddy babies?” He rubbed her belly and then bent down and kissed it too. He hated the smell of hospitals, that shit turned his stomach, but he knew he had to be by her side.
“I can’t believe I shot him.” She said.
“Look, whatever happened, we’ll talk about that shit later on, but right now, I need to know what’s up with you ma? What the doctors saying?” He asked.
“Well first of all, I hate that I had to come to my workplace because now everybody is in my business and treating me like a handicap and you know how much I hate that shit. On top of that, they’re probably putting my sister in the ground as we speak, and then I gotta worry about Brody’s ass, he won’t let this shit go.”
“Fuck Brody, you ain’t gotta worry about his ass.” Wise spat before walking out to go call and check on Marley. He knew she was supposed to be coming in to work because it was almost time for her shift, he’d been neglecting his little nerd, and he missed her.
Perfect and Brook’Lynn both stared at Wise’s back when he walked out leaving them two to finish what they were talking about. “The doctor said that I’m high risk because my placenta has partially detached from my uterus and in some cases that can deprive the baby of oxygen and nutrients. Sometimes it can cause severe bleeding and shit but lets pray that I don’t go through that, I’ll be five months next week, and I have faith. Ithink the stress of everything just started to get to me, and today I just lost it, I think I’m causing my baby to suffer.”
“Wait, slow down.” Perfect said feeling like his head was spinning as he pulled up a chair and sat next to her. “You just said a whole lot of shit so let me catch up. First of all, don’t blame yourself, this shit could’ve happened when you had that fight and maybe it’s just now catching up.” He said, trying to make it make sense for her. He didn’t need her blaming herself for shit. “And one thing I’ve always had is faith, so I have faith in this too.” He grabbed her hand and put it to his mouth. “Our baby gon’ make it.”
Brook’Lynn managed to smile, “I needed to hear that.”
“Good, now what sister is being put in the ground?” He asked. “You sure they didn’t dope you up too much and you all delusional and shit baby girl? You ain’t got no sisters.”
“No, I’m not delusional.” She puckered and then balled up her lips. “I’m talking about Bugg…come to find out she was the missing piece, she was my sister. Brody showed up at the church before the funeral and he was saying his goodbye to her, that’s when I heard him say it, but he didn’t know that I was there.”
Perfect swiped his hands down his face and blew a long breath, “This shit is too much.” He shook his head but snapped back out of it quick, “Look I don’t want you stressing about shit, you hear me?” He asked her with a serious look in his eyes, “I’m serious.”
“I know,” she shrugged. “I’m gonna be on bed rest anyway, thank God my job is secured.”
Perfect knew how she felt about her career, but he didn’t want her worrying about that shit right now. “I need to handle some shit but I’m thinking I should probably stay here with you.” He really needed to get some shit in order for her to come home and be able to relax. He also needed to get his plan in motion to get Rasta and Brody in the same room but now that this shithappened, he was torn cause he didn’t want to put Brook’Lynn in no positions to be stressing and shit even more.
“Stop treating me like I’m handicap, you don’t have to babysit me. I have a hell of a team that I work with who actually comes to check on me often.”
Perfect looked around with his face frowned up, “Where the fuck they at then? Cause not one person done walked in since I been here.” He grabbed her remote ready to push the nurse call button.
“Perfect!” Brook’Lynn giggled. “Stop that shit.”
“You sure? Cause I’ll get this shit turnt the fuck up in this bitch.” He smiled glad that he was able to put a smile on her face.
“I’m sure.”
