“So, it’s true? I didn’t want to believe this shit about you getting a job, now that’s some real put your pride to the side ass shit and I fucks with it.” C2 told her, he knew she had to swallow a large chunk of pride to go from fast money to flipping burgers.
“Don’t get it twisted C2, I’m not broke, I’m just trying to better myself. Now, how you want your burger?” She asked.
He placed his order, but he couldn’t stop looking at her crazy ass. He couldn’t lie and say he didn’t miss her, but then hethought about her sharing her pussy and got mad all over again. “Keep the change.” He told her.
She pushed it back, “I don’t need it.”
Tika chuckled, “Can’t believe you was asking about a hoe that flips burgers, and you still trying to low key take care of her ass; keep the change huh?” She smirked.
Kema tried to keep her cool but before C2 could say anything she was already over the counter with a two piece to that bitch’s face, “Uh huh bitch, I’ma flip a burger right on your face to!”
Tika didn’t know what had hit her but C2 had to get control over the situation while everybody else stood around rooting the shit on. He knew it was about to be bad for Kema when he saw the manager coming over. “Kema chill.” He told her, holding her in a bear hug.
“No, you get the fuck off of me!” She yelled, wiggling away from him. “A bitch trying to change her fucking life and you bring a ho in here to disrespect the shit out of me! I was minding my own fucking business!” She fixed her clothes looking at Tika who backed herself in the corner dabbing her lip with a napkin not wanting to get hit again while wishing that she hadn’t open her big mouth knowing she wasn’t a fucking fighter. Kema looked at her manager before he could say anything to her, “What! I’m fired? I quit this muthafucka!” She said storming out.
“Shit!” C2 followed her, “Kema wait!”
She wiped her tears and hopped in her ride, “Fuck outta here! I fucked up but that doesn’t give you the right to have a bitch come disrespect me!”
He couldn’t believe he was getting accused of some shit, “I didn’t even know you worked here so don’t flatter yo’ self ma! You need to calm the fuck down.” He said blocking the door so she couldn’t close it.
She looked at the clock on her dash before rolling her eyes back at him, “I have class, get out of my way.” She tried to slam the door again.
He couldn’t take looking into her face anymore without feeling some type of way so without shit else to do, he backed up.
Kema slammed the door and peeled off leaving him there, she didn’t give a fuck about the job. She’d discovered that physically dealing with the public wasn’t for her cause she still had that club mentality, if a bitch disrespected you, then they’d have to get that ass whooped. She was glad she had a little call center job lined up with Humana because it was over for fast food,‘had a bitch walking out smelling like a bucket of grease’,she mumbled to herself.
C2 felt bad about her losing her job cause he didn’t mean for that shit to happen. He dropped Tika’s ass off after that and didn’t even feel sorry for her either. He knew Kema was a fire cracker and she wasn’t going for that popping off at the mouth shit, which made him remember something else he used to love about her ass, too bad he didn’t love her anymore, or did he? He wondered.
Kema got out of class that night and drove straight to C2’s house knowing he wouldn’t be home. She sat on his steps and rolled up a joint waiting for him to get there so she could give him a piece of her mind, being back at the house made her kind of sad, and realizing that she had a good life at that house…and her and C2 had some damn good times together. The temperature wasdropping, and it was getting a little cold, so she hoped that he came back soon.
No sooner then she was about to get up and head to her condo on the beach he was pulling in, she took another pull off her joint and blew a circled cloud out of her mouth. She knew that he was surprised to see her, but she didn’t let that faze her.
“What you doing here?” He asked her walking up smelling all good and looking super fucking high already.
Standing up, she told him what was on her mind. “Look, I’m trying to get my life together okay. I know I don’t have the best jobs right now and honestly, I don’t care. I’m working to get a feel of this shit, doing something legit and right for once, do I need the money? No…but will I have you letting your hoes disrespect me and shit…hell no; it’s not fair. The most important factor here is I’m trying.”
“And I know this.” He said, leaning up against his car. “I apologize about that, had I known that you worked there, I wouldn’t have showed up with her…” he said and then he thought about it. “Nah, maybe I would’ve since I can do what the fuck I want just like you did, but I wouldn’t have let her disrespect you.”
“But you did!”
He looked around like she was crazy, “Okay, so where the fuck she at? Why she ain’t here with me so I can fuck her fucking brains out then?” He asked not waiting for an answer, “aiight then.”
“Whatever.” She mumbled, feeling like her feelings were getting the best of her again. She walked to her car and pulled out a Burger King bag passing it to him. “Here, you never got your food earlier, but if I know you like I think I do, you were gonna order a whooper with cheese and extra mayo, so I stopped to another Burger King on the way here and grabbed this for you.”
C2 grabbed the sandwich and pulled it out the bag examining it, “I appreciate the gesture and all, but this shit is as cold as ice.” He chuckled.
“Just like your heart when you kicked me out.” She responded before hopping in her driver’s seat revving the engine.
“That was a low blow.”
“You think we will ever be together again C2? Be honest…”
He spoke exactly what he was feeling at that time, “Nah, I think we way past that, but I’ll always love you though.”
Kema felt like shit, she had never felt the hurt she was feeling, she never knew love could hurt that bad…had her not sleeping properly and shit. She barely had an appetite but one thing she did do was learn about playing with people’s feelings, that shit was never worth losing the one you loved. Without another word, she drove off to her lonely home to curl under the sheets.
Little did she know, C2 wanted to stop her but he couldn’t find it in his heart to do it. If them other niggas was what she wanted then that’s what she’d get, she was free to do what she wanted. In all honesty, C2 was dealing with a lot of emotional shit and the only way he knew how to deal with it was to stay busy and stay distracted, that’s how he was and that’s how he’d always been. He wasn’t like Perfect who was good at dealing with shit head on, C2 was more reserved. He didn’t want to have to acknowledge that shit about Rasta or even address it; he couldn’t deny that it did fuck him up though. He really wished he could be able to come home to a girl whose shoulder he could lean on to help him deal with the shit he was feeling, but his life wasn’t set up that way at the present time.
