“We need fuckin’ prayer.” Boom said, he then turned his attention back to Yaya. “I need you to pull it together ma, you watch my back I got yo’ front, remember?” He reminded them of their little saying.
She nodded her head and tried to pull it together, she would forever feel like she slit Reema’s throat her damn self; if it wasn’t for her, she’d still be alive. “I’m ready.”
C2 took the lead, Yaya was in the middle and Boom was right behind her as they made their way to the elevator and went down so she could check out and then they made their way to her car. Yaya let C2 and Boom sit in the front, and she sat in the back in her own thoughts knowing she could feel safe with two of the most solid niggas she knew. C2 sat in the passenger seat talking to Boom. So, what’s next? We gone do this nigga or just go home?”
Boom stopped at the light and thought about it, “home sounds good, but who’s to say he won’t make it to Miami looking for her? When niggas get an obsession with somethin’ you know they don’t stop.”
“You right.” C2 shook his head.
Boom looked through the mirror on the visor and asked Yaya, “where you think he at?”
“I don’t know.” She mumbled, all she knew was that she was tired of the killing, tired of playing with life, and tired of death. It was all too much for her, “let’s just go home.”
They both had to turn around and look at her like she was crazy or lost her damn mind, “You wanna let this nigga live Ya?” C2 asked.
“I’m tired ya’ll…I’m tired of it all, God will deal with his ass. That’s our problem, we keep trying to take matters in our own hands instead of letting God deal with it, we don’t trust in him enough.”
“What’s gotten into you?” Boom asked, never expecting that to come out of her mouth, not that he was complaining.
“I’m just tired and I don’t want to see nobody else lose they life tonight, so please ya’ll…thanks for coming to get me, I really appreciate that more than you know…but let’s just go home.
Truth be told, they didn’t like to just go around killing niggas, but they did when they had to. If this was one, they could turn a cheek on, then that’s what they were gonna do and if Yaya wanted to just go home, then home it was. Yaya looked in her phone at her photos and smiled at the last picture her and Reema had taken together in her room that night. She was gonna miss her crazy personality and pretty smile, “I’ll miss you Reema.” She whispered and closed her phone and then her eyes to get some rest.
There wasone more piece to the puzzle that needed to be handled and Perfect couldn’t let that shit slide, if everybody else had to die then so did Brody and he knew that he would never just let them chill. He would always be some kind of issue, and he was just as responsible for all the fucked up shit that happened as everybody else involved. He hired a psychiatrist to go to his house and have a session with Brook’Lynn. She didn’t want to do it, but he begged her to have at least one session. He used that time to sneak away to the motel that he knew Brody was staying at. For some reason he was trying to be low key and didn’t stay at his usual spot, he was on Federal at a little funky motel.
He parked the little bucket he was driving and pulled a ski mask over his face waiting for Brody to come out. Just like he thought it didn’t take that long, Brody was a habitual smoker, so he knew he’d be coming out to the back soon to smoke something. Making sure his gloves were tight; he got out of thecar and walked right up on him. “What up Big B?” He asked him, aiming right at the back of his head.
Brody didn’t bother to turn around, he knew who was behind him, he knew that voice. Instead of throwing his joint out, he still lit it up and took his last puff. “I knew you was coming.” He nodded his head; it was almost as if he were ready to go anyway. “Get this shit over with man,” he said, sounding exhausted. “I didn’t have the strength to do this shit myself, I done lost everybody I ever gave a fuck about and the kids I do have left act like I’m dead anyway.”
“It ain’t have to be like this Brody.” Perfect told him and shook his head, “It ain’t even have to be like this.”
POW!
One shot to the back of his head sent Brody to meet his creator. Perfect hauled ass back to the car and drove off trying not to bring too much attention to himself. He felt a little relief when he drove back home, stopping to get him a drink first. When he was a little more mellow, he made his way home and felt like he was stepping into a new house when he got there, the aurora was so different, like there were no more demons.
Brook’Lynn was finishing her session and looked refreshed; Perfect didn’t want to get in the way because he didn’t want to distract her so he went in the kitchen and sat on the island, but he could still hear.
“So how do you feel right now?” The doctor asked her.
Brook’Lynn took a deep breath, “I feel…I don’t know I feel like it’s okay. I feel like everything is going to be okay. I been through some pretty traumatic stuff but in the end, I gained two angels…my baby girl Heaven and Shelly.”
“Shelly was truly a blessing.” The doctor agreed.
“You believe everything happens for a reason doc?” Brook’Lynn asked her.
She smiled and closed her notepad, “Yes, a big believer, nothing happens just to happen. Everything that happened had a cause for it. Even me being here talking to you is for a reason, I’m here because I was supposed to be here, you understand what I’m saying?”
Brook’Lynn nod her head, “Yep, I understand completely but outside of all of that, I’m still blessed. I have a man that adores me, friends that love me, my health, and a career. I have food on my table and a roof over my head, I won’t complain. I’m a survivor. The stuff I’ve been through probably would’ve killed most.”
Perfect had tears in his eyes, he wanted to run out there and just hug her.
The doctor smiled, “I’m proud of you Brook’Lynn, and I admire your strength.” She told her extending her hand to shake hers.
“Thank you so much, I’m glad I decided to talk to you, I really enjoyed this session and if it’s okay with you. I’d like to see you again.”
“I’ll surely come back, it was a pleasure.” She smiled as Brook’Lynn walked her out.
She closed the door and locked it; when she turned around, Perfect was standing there. “Come here.” He told her.
