He laughs. "We rode together for a while. He hated the snow and opted for the city but we were always close. I miss my Brother more than I ever thought I would. I see so much of him in you. He used to tell me Jordan was like me. It seems almost prophetic that the two of you are closer now and will get the chance to share from both of us."
Jordan looks uncomfortable. "Sometimes I feel like I'm being pushed to make choices I wouldn't normally make, but everything feels so fucking perfect, I know it isn't wrong."
Raid laughs. "We all feel it here too. Cort even sounds weird when he says shit, like our new beginning and the building being our new heart."
Jordan's eyes snap to mine. "Yeah, like that. Badass runs so fucking deep in the city it's like a pulse that we're connected to."
I know that feeling well. "It is. Fucking weird, but it is."
"Let’s see the rest of the building." Major gets us moving.
The big meeting room impresses him. Jordan smiles at the floating logo. I show him my meeting room and office, Security and the Ops center. Jordan stays in Ops with Web and Hade while I take Major down to Training.
"Masons can remove the Sheriff. They'll do it quietly and have it all showing legal. There are sects or orders that deal with problems like this. Do you have reason to believe the Sheriff is causing problems in the community or the order?" He asks while watching Falcon and Mounty training the new Security Brothers.
"We have two deputies that can give statements. Seren’s dad, Jules and my dad were killed and the coroner’s reports were false. What was handed to the family wasn't the original reports. A deputy called in the state and more reports came up missing with no investigation into it. The deputy was fired and found the tie to Carlson."
"The deputy was yours?"
"He is now, he was Badass from Ohio. His father is a Master Mason from there. He does things for them that aren't spoken. He won't go near this order and had a problem with a deputy we took out last night who was also a Mason. He had to get in somehow. I think it's through the Sheriff."
He nods. "Will you have room for the trainees?"
"We will. I'm excited to show you their quarters." Turning, I see Jordan watching.
"Your new Enforcers are looking good."
"This is Security. They don't have the suits, they need to be ready for anything."
Major laughs. I take them up and they smile at the doors. "It really was a ward. The Prospects are in maternity. It has more rooms and a bigger common area." Opening the first door, I walk in.
"It's bigger than I expected." Jordan checks out the closet.
"The contractor took some room for the closets but it didn't hurt the space. All the rooms have bathrooms." I point. "All areas have laundry and common areas." I walk them down to where the nurse’s station was. A refrigerator, long kitchen table and two living room sets fill the space. Cowboy Jr. added some pictures and shit making it look nice.
Coming back out, I point out the Prospects section. "We have younger Brothers on this floor, a lot are the Security you saw training. Brothers started showing from every fucking where. Their apps are good too. I'm looking at two new trainers and some Lead potentials in the first group."
"This is impressive, Cort. You're training them like your Officers?”
“Everyone we had as Enforcers and Security in the city are trained like we are. We train together. Except me, I train only with trainers, which are the Officers. We will train them the same but have added Krav Maga to our training. We have a second level five that teaches and my ol' lady a level four."
Major stops making me smile. "Your ol' lady is teaching Krav Maga?"
Raid laughs. "She's fucking fast too. Four seconds, she had a pussy's nose and arm broke. She's like this big." He holds his hand up at about her height.
"She's the assistant, level four. Second level five is a woman that I wouldn't fuck with. She'd make a good Enforcer for us and knows Badass."
"And she's got a contract on your body parts if I’m not happy."
I spin around and smile. My little Goddess is cute. "We're training early. Falcon said to come up and meet Major and Jordan." She looks at Major with her killer smile. "I've heard so much about you. It's good to finally meet you in person. I'm Seren Masters."
Major is stunned. "You’re teaching the Brothers?"
Seren laughs. "Freedom is, I'm the assistant."
Major doesn't know what to say. "She doesn't have a guard?"
Raid laughs. "Freedom can do it, but Cort has a room full of Security and Prospects if they'd need them. They won't need them. Freedom took down Mounty the day she met him. She trains with Hade all the time."
