“Jesus. I’ll be in Ops, Raid.”

“I’ll bring you a sub from Seren’s if we get out quick.” I turn going the opposite way.

Jordan yells a thanks, Raid yells he’s calling an order in when he sees me leave the Mason. Fucking tracking.

“Seren works too?”

I nod. “She owns the pizzeria. It has food geared toward men. The Brothers love it.”

“She’s a beautiful woman but something about her eyes, they’re unnatural but pull you in.” Major makes me smile.

“Don’t ever tell her. People don’t know how to react around her so they just don’t talk to her. Like Jordan. He wasn’t trying to disrespect her, but he never said a word. Her whole life was like that. She’s smart as hell and no one ever saw it. The Brothers are better than they were, now that they know her.”

“Shit. That couldn't have been happy, then her dad died. She’s friends with the Freedom woman?”

I smile. “Yeah, and her sister Victory. Three women and Rex were her life after her dad died. She grew up with the women watching over her, but it wasn’t in a normal way. Men wanted to fuck her or break her because they thought she was high maintenance.”

He laughs. “The girl didn’t look high maintenance. Just stunningly pretty.”

“Yeah. This is me.” I look at the Prospect. Why the fuck did he bring this one?

“Boss, Major.”

We both nod to him. “Major, VP said to bring this one but we have other bikes if you’d like a different model.”

Major looks at the Ducati smiling. “I’ll enjoy this one. Thanks, Prospect.”

I laugh. “Rex bought me and Seren matching bikes. That’s one of them. I’ll keep it here for when you visit.”

“You’re old school for your age. This has everything on it.” He’s impressed. Rex should be buying him bikes.

I start mine up and he hits my arm. “Exhaust?”

“Silent or close. Enforcer bikes all have it.”

He shakes his head starting the bike. I point out my house and Seren’s shop. We’re at Byron’s in six minutes.

“That wasn’t long enough. I like this one, Cort.”

“It’s nice. Too much power for Seren. That’s why she’s training with the Prospects.” While he laughs, I look at the Enforcers. “Out of view but watching.”

“Roger, Boss.” They all ride away. I know they’re not far.

I walk two houses down and knock, hoping this is the right house. An older guy opens up and I think we’re doing good so far.

“Crow’s boy?” Definitely the right place.

“Reed was my dad. I was Crow’s VP and he was my teacher for all things in life.”

He shakes his head smiling. “He loved you like you were his. I’ve seen pictures of you for many years. Your dad was a good man, so was Crow. Come in. Come in. I shouldn’t keep you on the doorstep. You’re Cortland, right?”

“I am and this is Major. He’s from MC Badass in Colorado. Crow was...”

“Major. Crow told me about your wandering days. I’m glad he landed in New Mexico and you weren’t far. He sought your council sometimes just to touch base.”

Major laughs. “I did the same. He was always a good friend and teacher. He’s sorely missed.”

“I’m Dan Sutton. I imagine you know that since you’re here.”
