My closest Brothers hug me, all with words of honor as they move to the Brothers, whose excitement is building into a frenzy. Shit, this is going to be a good party.

“It’s time, Boss.” Raid pulls me toward my bike.

Before he starts his, he puts his hand on my arm. “Thanks for being the President we need.” He doesn’t give me a chance to reply. Starting his bike, he looks straight ahead. He doesn’t want a reply.

I start my bike and we ride toward town. I’ll be glad when everything is in place and every minute isn’t spent with an Enforcer partner every time I move.

Seren doesn’t seem impressed with our temporary Clubhouse and office until I walk her out the back.

“It’s a pig roast.” She laughs.

“It is. There’s other food but the pig is the main event. Sort of like a luau with the Brothers as our entertainment.”

She smiles up at me. “You have music.”

I nod, “We do, but at the Club, screaming rock is the theme.”AC/DC’sThunderstruckjust started. Women are dancing and men are watching. That’s the reason for the old hard rock, but I keep that to myself. The men noticed me come in, but their eyes snap back to Seren every couple of seconds. Weird.

She points toward a group of Brothers laughing with some women I’ve seen in town. “My friends Victory and Freedom are here. Harmony is the lead dancer. She teaches traditional dance to kids but pole dancing to women in the mornings.”

I laugh. “Your friends have cool names and fuck, I hope you’ve taken that morning class.”

She smiles but keeps her eyes scanning the crowd. “Let’s get a beer.” She’s my kind of girl.

Rex pulls Seren away from me introducing her to some of the Brothers. Thunderstruck is the right song for this. She’s in kickass biker boots with heels, jeans and a tight T that’s cut short to show she has toned abs to go along with the rest of her athletic build. Her platinum hair is held in a low ponytail with escaped pieces brushing her cheeks every time a breeze hits them. I swear when she brushes them away, the Brothers that are close hold their breath. She’s not overly dressed or made up. It’s got to be her perfectly symmetrical face and arresting blue eyes. Since I can’t take my eyes off her either, I can’t really blame them.

I lean against a pole watching her talking to Rex and whatever Brother isn’t stammering. When Banks moves closer, Seren recognizes him. He loves the apartment and she’s happy about that. I don’t get why he’s telling her, I own the building. He tells her about the deposit set for tomorrow making my girl shine those amazing eyes my way. I move close and Brothers step back.

“Banks said it will be done tomorrow.” She’s happy but confused.

Taking her hand, I nod. “The payment will go through tomorrow. The lawyer will record everything within a couple of days.”

Banks looks at me weird. “Should I have waited?”

I’m not sure if he means waited to tell her or waited for the lawyer.

Seren’s confusion is like a weight on her forehead causing a wrinkle and her brows to go down. I don’t like it. “You paid me without signatures.”

Banks nods still confused about why she is. The brain’s workings always intrigue me. “That’s why I was telling you. Our lawyer will have the papers for you to sign tomorrow, payment will be made as of 12:01 and it will be recorded as soon as he can get all the buildings done together. It will be this week.” He doesn’t understand her confusion.

She squeezes my hand with her beautiful eyes going wide. I smile. “People don’t normally fuck with us. I promised payment and made sure you’d see it when you wake up tomorrow. I know where you live, work and we share the same favorite uncle. I’m not worried about you making off with the money. You could and probably should be worried about us being in your store and the apartments. Payment upfront will keep you worry-free.” I give her my reason and she gets it.

She laughs and Banks smiles. “That’s what I said, almost.”

I laugh pulling her with me toward Ant Irma. She’s not my aunt, but we all call her Ant Irma because she said so as she spelled it out. She’s an undeterminable age but Rex tells me she’s in her sixties. I don’t believe it, she looks too young, she just talks old.

As we get close, I let my smartass show. “I want you to meet Ant Irma. She’s from Louisiana and threatens to spell me ugly every time I’m a smartass, it happens a lot so I’m glad you met me before I pissed her off for the last time.” I love her laugh.

Ant Irma swats at my arm. “Don’t be fresh, child. Seren, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Rex tells me you’re smart as a whip and he’s right, you’re beautiful to boot.”

Seren lowers her head for a second. “Thank you, Ant Irma. He told me the same about you. I’m glad you’re here today. Rex told me you take food over to the next town to feed the homeless. I have some heated carriers the old pizzeria left that I put aside for you. Rex has been busy or I would have asked him to bring them to you sooner. I have a small car.”

“I’ll have a Prospect bring...” I try to tell Ant Irma but Seren squeezes my hand.

“I also get food and paper deliveries in bulk. You’re welcome to order through me.” What the hell is she talking about? There’s a problem with her ordering?

Ant Irma’s eyes light up. “He told you about the market?”
