Chapter Three
Freedom
I hear Victory and moan. “Tell me she isn’t walking in,” he says.
I don’t say a word but pull the sheet higher. I have no idea where the blanket went. He sits and I’m still against his chest, but his arm is around me holding the sheet.
“You want to shower with me?”
I smile. He’d carry me to the shower, but he doesn’t know Victory. “She’d walk in on us, sit on the toilet and talk. She wouldn’t leave when we’re done and follow to the room while we dress. Go. I’ll keep her out of there.”
“Fucking hell. I’ll miss washing you, gorgeous, but I’ll shoot for it tomorrow.”
I laugh pushing him away and flop back on the bed. “Go or she’ll try and jump in bed with us.”
He moves fast reaching for his cargos and makes it into the bathroom just as the bedroom door opens. “Oh! Is he in the shower? Its Ranger, isn’t it?” She moves to the door and I’m up and in front of her.
“Don’t even fucking think about it.”
She looks for his shoes. “Big dick. Nice.”
I roll my eyes and just answer before she asks. “It was our first time, we’ve seen each other every day, but it’s been busy and you finally went home yesterday morning. Four times, multiple orgasms for me and every time he’s making sure I’m off first. He cleaned me up every time but this morning. You stopped that, but he’ll clean me in the shower tomorrow.”
She gives me a look. “You’re lying to get rid of me?”
I laugh at her. “Because I’m known for lying to you. If I wanted you out, he’d still be in bed and I’d tell you to get the fuck out.”
“Oh, my amethyst gemstone! He’s your one, the universe gave you your one!”
“Shut up or he’ll hear you. I think he is, but this was our first time together. We never really kissed before last night. It’s all just been friendly dinner, errands, talking and shit.”
She’s smiling like I decided to use her crystals. “Lorelei was right. You spent time getting to know him and he’s the one!”
“Get the fuck out if you’re not going to quiet down.”
She gets up and sashays to the door. “Putting all my stuff close to you worked. It worked for Lorelei and Seren. I met a guy at the Club last night. His name is Shultz. I wanted you to find out about him. My crystals will work for me too.” She laughs walking out.
I shake my head and stay right here knowing she’ll be back for a try at naked Ranger. While I’m waiting, I think about him. He’s more than I thought he could be and she may be right. He could be my soulmate. I’ll never say that out loud, but I believe we all have one person we’re meant to be with. Hade showed me he wasn’t it long before the trainee shit went down, but he was okay and I thought maybe I was being too harsh on him. I did refuse to ride on the back of his bike for games. When he said he loved me, I couldn’t give those words back and knew he didn’t mean them. Always having a reason for not opening the shop should have clued me in, but he used our time together as an excuse. When I got the timing issues down, the trainee shit happened and he wouldn’t talk to me at all about the shop.
I shake my head as Victory opens the door then closes it fast. Sneaky bitch. Raid got me thinking for me again. It wasn’t about Hade. This life I live has to be about me and my dreams. Once that cleared up, I was kicking myself for falling down that path. Now Ranger is here and I’m glad I went through all that shit. It showed me what to watch out for and what to appreciate.
When he walks into the room with just cargos on, I smile at his smile. He’s got a lot to appreciate. “She’s only tried twice, but now that you’re dressed, I can get dressed too.” Ranger Bob is fucking ripped and his ink is sexy. He has my poor, sore body clenching. It’s been a while for me, even though everyone thinks I’m like Victory. I do have standards.
He laughs. “How about my house tonight. We can throw her off with changing houses. She’ll never know where you are.”
“I like that your fair mind has you giving equal time here, but won’t take offense to you wanting to avoid her.” Victory can be a bit much at times.
He stops tucking his shirt in and looks at me. “She’s your sister. A twin is closer than just a sister. I’m not trying to avoid her and think youshouldtake offense if I did. I’m not saying she’s my new BFF. I was kidding but trying to gauge where you stood for another sleepover. I’ve got no problem sleeping here or seeing Victory when I get clothes on. I may take offense at her walking in when I’m balls deep.” The fucking Brother is too much.
I’m laughing and he sits on the bed. “I’ll sleep at your house tonight. Since she knows you’re here, she’ll be here again in the morning and I didn’t get to experience you cleaning me up in there.”
His smile hits his eyes. “I’ll make it happen.” The kiss is another scorcher causing my body to clench in all the right places. The man is good.
He stands and straps his holster on. When he sits to put his boots on, I stand up and pull a shirt out of the dresser. I’ve never shied away from watching the male body move, but damn, I’ve got it bad if the sight has me staring like it’s my first time. I did notice his hair is lighter than when we met. The brown is light brown with what looks like surfer streaks of highlights. His hazel eyes go well with the lighter hair coloring. My hand goes to my hair and I’m glad it’s still in the braids and not wild.
He moves my hand. “Let me.”
I do and watch the mirror as he loosens the braids with a smile. “I like the braids, they’re always different, but I like to see it down too. Your hair is soft.”
