Seren takes her hand. “It’s working. Everyone is helping and it’s working.”
“What can I do?”
I laugh. “Eat your fucking lunch or I’ll force-feed you.”
She picks up her fork. “Have you heard from Victory?” I’m glad Seren changes the subject.
“Yeah. She’s happy.” I start eating and watch Lorelei eat. “Marley set her up with her solar and will do the maintenance. She’s so fucking funny.”
They’re smiling. “When is she coming?”
“Next month. It’s hard to pin her down. She’s got shit going on all the time. I’m glad she’s happy there, but would like to get the party over with. You know the tradition in Michigan was the Brothers sing to their ol’ lady? Ranger can sing too.”
Seren looks interested. Shit, maybe I should have kept that one. “Next month will be good. He’ll be uncovered and more comfortable. I’m calling Victory later. I’ll get a day so we can plan the biker-married party.”
Fuck. “Don’t tell her about Ranger. She’ll be here wanting to meditate and cover him in crystal.”
They laugh. “I won’t tell her, but you should have. She’s going to be pissed when she finds out.”
“I know, but this isn’t about her. He needs time with the Brothers all being positive and upbeat. I’ll tell her before she gets here.”
Lorelei laughs. “You better tell Daniel. He was there. It’s a big news thing and I know he told Juanita and Falcon. Victory promised to call him.”
“Oh shit. I’ll see him tonight with the Little Brothers and Masons.”
Seren laughs. “I’ll let you know if she’s pissed after I talk to her.”

Ranger
Ops for surveillance is easy even with one eye. I know everyone is watching, but I’ve got it. Anton is making it easy. When Phoenix One starts back, I check the time. It seems to fly when I’m in here. The thought makes me smile.
“Boss, Badass is on in five,” Web yells from his station.
“Get an alert to Raid for my meeting room.” Cort turns to me. “What’s their ETA?”
“Seven.”
“Fuck. Can Shultz bring them in?”
“Yeah, Boss.”
He’s on his phone. “I need you in Ops ASAP.”
Jinx comes in and Cort hands him the headset. “When he gets here, come to my meeting room. Web, get Shultz logged into Ops.”
“Roger, Boss.” Why is a Badass call a reason for me to be there?
Web answers right behind me. “Roger, Boss.”
Shultz smiles walking in the door. I hand him the headset and the trainee steps to his side. “I’ll explain. I think Pres needs you there.”
“Thanks, Brother.”
I thumb in and Cort’s eyes show relief. “One minute. Stand with me, Brother.”
