I roll my eyes. “You were in a scout. It wasn’t even a new one.”
Julius laughs. “He’s amazing in his modified chopper. Cort bought it when they realized he didn’t know their protocols. He wrote the SOP for his chopper. They thought he wasn’t aerial.”
I crack up, snort and all. “Wait, you're with the Warrior in Bravo?”
“Jack’s my brother-in-law. We were talking about the kids. We can expand for a group with the elders. Their compound is new and Alder said it will be easy. I like this here.” He points to the kid compound right by the Officer’s.
I nod. “They need the quarantine time but Chenoa said a day or two.”
Mag looks surprised. “They need vaccines and…”
I’m shaking my head but Julius tells him. “They’re Americans, they can’t get into school without being vaccinated. They may have missed boosters but they’re covered for the initial. I spoke to Doc in Phoenix and he said they need the day to check for foreign cultures.”
Mag looks relieved. “The cultures Carmen is checking from the lab. I get it. I have Alpha-Bit boys that can’t be close to some vaccines. Alder sent the vitamin boosters to the house and everyone that helps here got them but,” he shrugs, “you never know and my boys are my boys.”
I smile.
Julius does the man hug thing. “We can ask so you’re all safe.”
“I can ask Carmen or Chenoa. They’re both at Bravo all the time.”
I look around while they pull phones. Julius is calling the Phoenix doctor.
I find a familiar face and head toward her. “Hey, Suzie.”
The teen smiles looking happier than I’ve seen her. “Vapor, I’m glad you’re back. The little ones are adorable. Sarah said we have a parent located for two of them.”
“Yes. Sweet is scheduled for tomorrow.”
Her head rears back. “I think he’s going to the carrier.”
I’m not talking missions with a kid but I smile. “I’ll find out. Everyone is taking a break but I wanted to see how everything turned out and find out if anything else is needed.”
She smiles at the girl with her. “She was just saying it’s great here. They were nervous. The palace was nice but not for them.”
I nod, not wanting to talk about this. “The Little Brothers and Sisters are going to explain how things work and who to ask for help.” I point to the boy Julius singled out earlier.
“Tyson Bailey. We should go over there, the adults are moving kids closer.” Michaels should be in the mix over there.
I watch seeing my K9 with the boy who has many eyes stopping at him.

Now that everyone is sitting, it doesn’t seem as … I smile. “Citiali. It’s nice to meet you in person.” He’s taller and his presence is felt like Ben Knight and Justice.
He pulls a seat out and sits across from us.
I look at my girl. “This is Vapor. Vapor, Citiali, the President of Teach?”
He smiles. “Cort is crazy. Yes, Teach. I was named the messenger and teacher but it is my brother Atohi that is the teacher for Andrew in Virginia. I advise and bring wisdom and messages from the ancestors to the Warriors of all tribes. It usedto be medicine men but everyone is equal here and all should be included. I agree and include all.”
I love how Badass is incorporated into the Native or maybe how Native is incorporated into Badass.
Vapor nods. “It’s a good way for everyone to get the same information.”
He smiles with respect showing in his eyes. “It is. The kids and tribes help me with that but we value straight talk and simple reasoning. Too often we get caught up in what’s not important and miss the important.”
