I was calm. So very calm.

No noise raged within, no clenching cold pit in my stomach.

Just utter calm.

I was finally allowing myself to do what I always needed to do, what I always wanted. What Icraved.

Pushing open the basement door slowly, I stepped into the dirty kitchen.More blood greeted me, this one old and thick and smelling of rotten flesh. There, sitting at the old table with a bottle of cheap beer was Lyal, our foster father.

The monster who created a monster.

Next to him on the floor, laid in an awkward position was the social worker bitch. Her skull was caved in, and her eyes were open and bugged out as if the blow to her head had pushed too much pressure through them.

Lifting his heavy head, Lyal’s watery blood-shot eyes widened in shock.

“Yo-you!” He slurred, throwing his half full bottle at me. It shattered in my face, piercing my skin. The fresh cuts burned from the alcohol as blood began to drip down my face.

I relished the pain.

Welcomed it.

I bared my teeth in Rí’s fashion of a smile.

Rí.If I joined my boys. Then I wouldn’t have my Mates. My men. My Circle.

I couldn’t think about that. I had a monster to torture.

He sputtered in shock as I slowly walked towards him

“Sit back down.” I was empty.

I pushed my finger into his food-stained chest as he fell back into his chair with fearful eyes.

Void.

Gone. They were gone.

“I–I–” Stammering, he leaned back against the chair, trying to get away from me.

“Where is he? Where is my Elyas?”

Ignoring my question, his bloodshot, watery eyes searched my face. Grabbing his stained shirt in my hand, I pulled him closer to me and let him see the empty coldness in my purple eyes.

He gasped as he realised my eyes were not normal and it was all it took for me to grit my teeth. He was ruining my calm.

“Where is my boy?” I gritted out.

He still flickered his eyes between my own. Just as I was about to punch him in the throat, he grinned. His watery gaze cleared, becoming more focused.

“What the fuck are you smiling at?” I snapped as I stepped back, an automatic reaction to my childhood monster.

“So you came into your powers?” I blinked at him as he stood up, brushing the lint of his now sparkling clean clothing.

What?

His usual stained, off-white top was now a pure white button down, tucked into sleek black slacks with shiny dress shoes. His balding greasy head was now full of salt and pepper hair tied into a knot at the base of his neck. His appearance changed before me.

He looked like…no.
