"Well, Nathan, how about when you come into the room tonight to meet Carson, I hold your hand. That way you won't have to be nervous." Ky hoped he was allowed to do that.

"Will you hold Mommy's too? I think she is more scared than me."

Ky smiled as he watched Nathan's mother blush. "I'd be happy to."

"Sorry, it's just I've been a big fan for a long time. I never dreamed we'd get to meet him." His mom took a deep breath. "It has to be hard for you having so many people want him. Does it make you jealous?"

Ky shook his head. "Not at all. I know people love Carson. I accept that." It helped that most of the people screaming at Carson how much they loved him were females, and that wasn't something that would interest Carson at all. The few men he'd seen around who looked like they were in love with him, did give Ky a bit of hesitation, but he just reminded himself that this was a three-week thing. It wasn't like he had Carson's heart either. "It takes some getting used to, but getting jealous wouldn't do any good."

"It must be amazing being with him. He's so good looking." She sighed dreamily.

"He is. I'm lucky. Don't know what he saw in me, but I'm not complaining for a minute." Ky smiled as the lights started to dim and the crowd cheered.

Ky turned toward the stage, aware of Nathan beside him, looking around at everything in awe.

How was it a ten-year-old knew who Carson was and he didn't? It made him realize how hard things must be for Bryan. While his brother was at the homeless shelter school it wouldn't be so bad, but once he transferred to a regular school, Bryan would lack the social skills he needed. He didn't know anything about pop culture or the world outside his limited one. Maybe being around Jess would help that, but she was still younger than he was. She wouldn't know much either. It was something he needed to think about and watch. Trouble was, until now, his own world was just as bleak and limited.

There was nothing he could do about it now, but it was something he would need to focus on when he got back home. He missed Bryan. He'd thought about calling him, but he still didn't want to talk to Carson about him, and he really didn't dare make long distance calls from the hotel room without permission.

The sound of a loud drumbeat pulled his attention away. As the band took the stage, Ky forced himself to focus on the music. This was his first concert and he was going to enjoy it.
