CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Ky waited in the dressing room for Carson to get off stage. It was a wild night in Kansas City. He'd spent the day touring the area with the rest of the band, but he missed Carson while they were out. He hated that he couldn't join them.

With only a week left of the tour, Ky was trying not to think about how hard it was going to be to go back home. He was excited to see Bryan, and talked to him at least every other day now, but leaving Carson behind was going to be hard.

Sure, he promised that they would find a way to make it work, but Carson only had two weeks off before he headed back east for the rest of the tour schedule. Then, not long after that, he would head overseas.

He'd fallen hard for Carson even though he'd tried not to. He'd given up on trying to keep his feelings at bay as they spent every night talking and laughing together. In a way, this was how he always imagined being married. Minus all the travel, they settled in comfortably together. As he slowly learned Carson's habits and Carson learned his, he found that they worked well together.

The biggest issue he faced was he still hadn't told Carson about Bryan. There'd been a million chances, but each time he feared that telling him would be the one thing that pushed him away. In fear of losing what they had, he stayed silent about his brother, wanting to just enjoy the time they had left together. He'd tell Carson about his brother in time, before they headed back to Utah, but he was going to enjoy every day he could with Carson just in case it all ended once the tour was done.

He didn't doubt Carson's feelings for him. He honestly now believed this wasn't a job or about the money. What they shared was real, and he honestly hoped that would mean that when he did tell Carson about Bryan, it wouldn't change things. Still, it was a huge change from just being the two of them to suddenly having a ten-year-old thrown into the mix.

The dressing room door opened and Casey, the drummer, walked in, a towel wrapped around his neck. He was drenched in sweat. After seeing several concerts, Ky didn't know how the guy managed the energy he needed to perform each night. He was amazing at what he did, but after sitting in and trying to play the drums one time during a sound check, Ky couldn't imagine what it would be like to keep that up for several hours.

"Carson will be a few minutes. He got trapped into an interview with the local paper." Casey stripped off his shirt.

"Thanks, I'm not surprised. Calvin said everyone was trying to get time with him tonight."

"Yeah, the crowd was insane. Did you see the two girls get kicked out for taking their shirts off and throwing their bras at Carson?" Casey reached for another towel.

Ky made a disgusted face. "Don't they all know he's gay?"

"I guess they hope to be the ones to change him. I'm going to grab a shower." Casey hurried to the back of the dressing room.

It was hard to get used to all the odd things that fans did to get Carson's attention. They'd been sitting with Calvin one night as he talked about the things that came in the mail for him. It was almost depressing how desperate some fans were to find a way to get to Carson. It made him realize how lucky he was to be the one to curl up with him every night.

He still didn't see Carson as someone famous. To him, he was still the lost looking man he'd spent a few hours with at the hotel the first day they met. If he was honest, he hated watching the way Carson tensed up each time he had to perform or face the fans. It was almost like watching him put a mask on and step into another role where he watched everything he said and did, never allowing the public to see the real man inside.

As the door to the dressing room opened again, Ky watched as the rest of the band walked in.

Once in the sanctuary of the room, without anyone else around, Gene pulled a bra from his pocket and sling-shotted it at Kylie. "Look, you won't have to go bra shopping if this keeps up."

Kylie snagged the bra and tossed it in the trash. "My boobs are nowhere that big, and I'm not about to where some slutty bitch's bra."

Ky raised an eyebrow at her.

"She's just mad they threw them to Carson and not her," Gene teased.

Kylie snapped her towel at Gene's ass.

Ky loved watching the band when they were playful like this. It was almost like a big family. One he'd come to love almost as much as he loved Carson. He'd never had really close friends like this, and it was going to be one more thing that he would miss when he finally had to go home.

The door opened again and Carson stepped into the room, looking exhausted. "What a night." He headed straight for Ky and pulled him into his arms. "I needed you to save me tonight."

"From bra throwing vixens?" Ky laughed.

"And the guy in the front row who kept rubbing his cock through his pants and mouthing how he wanted to suck my dick." Carson blew out a long breath. "It was insane."

Casey walked out from the back, his hair wet from his shower. "I'm glad I'm in the back and don't have to deal with the stuff you guys do." He reached for a clean shirt from his bag. "I'm going to the bar for a few drinks. Anyone want to join?"

Ky wasn't shocked when everyone but Carson wanted to join him.

"How about you and I go back to the hotel and have our own party," Carson whispered in Ky's ear.

Ky smiled. "I'll suck your dick better than any fan will."

"Maybe tonight I don't want you sucking my cock. I'd rather suck yours." Carson nipped at his ear.
