"I'm going nuts lying around."

"Have them bring you a laptop. You can play solitaire or something. Just keep that shoulder still until that muscle heals or you're going to regret it as you get older."

"What's one more regret." Bryon sighed. "I'm actually not calling to whine to you. I was hoping you and Parson could come in for a team meeting tonight."

Beau walked into the family waiting room, taking a seat on the couch, glad the room was empty. "You want me to bring Parson?"

"Yeah, if he's okay with it. I'd like the whole team to have a chance to meet him. If he's going to know our secrets, then he needs to know everyone. I get why Carter had you drag him and the kids along the other night, and I agree it was the right call, but I'd like to have a chance to sit down and get to know him. I know the others would too. You can bring the kids. They can hang downstairs while we talk," Bryon told him.

"Sure, I'll talk to him. I don't think it will be a problem." Beau hoped Bryon wouldn't give Parson the fifth degree. The last thing he wanted was for Parson to be uncomfortable around the team or at the STK house. "Any news on the missing kids?"

"Nothing yet. Dyson is going in tomorrow night to take care of the last foster home we have evidence on. After that, the leads all dry up. I'm hoping the kids were dumped on the streets and will show up as runaways eventually. I know it's not the best outcome, but it's better than the other scenarios."

"It is," Beau agreed. "Parson says CPS is in an uproar. He doesn't know what will happen. The State is investigating the whole department, and rumor is a whole new set of rules and regulations is about to come down from the legislature."

"Good, hopefully with tougher laws for pedophiles while we're at it. Matt got a notice that Faith's kidnapper is already scheduled to see the parole board. While that doesn't mean he'll get out, it is insane that he's going in front of the board this soon. Something needs to change." Bryon sounded pissed.

"Does Faith know?" Beau worried what this would do to her.

"No, no one has told her. They plan to, but it's several months away, so for now, they're keeping quiet. No point in getting her upset yet."

Beau sighed. "She's come so far. I hate to think this might set her back." Sometimes he wished the team didn't let the sick fucks live.

"She'll be okay. We'll all make sure of it. If the fucker gets released, we'll have eyes on him twenty-four-seven."

"I know, it's just, fuck, that girl's been through enough." Beau rolled his shoulders. "I haven't talked to Lisa and Jeff yet, but I'm sure they will be asked to testify when that case comes to trial."

"Probably, but that's up to them. I almost want their abuser to be released so we can get hold of him."

"Yeah, me too." Beau blew out a long breath. "Okay, I better call Parson and see if he's free tonight. Do you need anything? Pain levels alright?"

"I'm good. Bring me a huge meat pizza, would ya? Becca's trying to feed me rabbit food."

"Rabbit food is good for you, but I'll pick up a couple pizzas when we head over. See you in a few hours." He hung up and called Parson. "Hi."

"Hey, you headed home?"

"Not quite yet, but soon. You still there?"

"Yeah, Lisa and I are eating ice cream and deciding if your Christmas tree should be real or fake." Parson laughed.

"Real, it's not even a question to consider. You tell Lisa that the four of us will go get a tree this weekend and put it up. I work Friday night, but we can go once I grab a nap. Then they can decorate it however they want."

"I'll let her know." Parson sounded happy.

"So, I just got a call from Bryon and they are having a team meeting tonight and they'd like you and me both there. He wants to meet you and have the rest of the team formally introduced to you. Are you free?" Beau wasn't sure how Parson would take the news the team wanted him there.

"Yeah, of course. What time? I was just planning on hanging out here with Lisa until you and Jeff get back."

"We need to be there at five. Do me a favor and order five large meat pizzas, and then another of whatever Lisa and Warren want. I need to bring dinner to the meeting. If we have it delivered before we go, it will make it easier and we won't have to wait for them to be ready."

"I can do that."

"Thanks, I'll pay you back."

"Whatever."

Beau smiled. It was so nice not having money be an issue between them. "Lisa okay?"
