"Sounds like a date."
Beau smiled. "Guess we'll have to get used to dates with the kids now. I have to admit, after last night, I can't wait to get you alone again."
"I might have taken an extra-long shower today, thinking of you."
"Yeah, I was probably doing the same thing in the shower when you were." Just talking about it made Beau's cock stir to life. "Maybe we can shower together next time."
"Or at least call each other. I'm up for some good phone sex."
Beau took a deep breath. "Keep talking like that and I'm going to come visit you before you hit the store."
"I wouldn't complain."
"Really? Because I'd—" Beau's STK phone rang, distracting him from his thoughts. The team only called him when it was important or if there was a medical emergency. "Fuck, hold that thought, I have to take this call. I'll call you right back." He didn't wait for a goodbye, just hung up and answered the STK phone. "Hello?"
"Not a medical emergency," Carter told him right away. "But we had a break in the foster care case and I thought you'd want to know about it. We've tracked down videos of the kids, and have faces of one of the adults, but are still working on his name. I know you're pretty involved with this case since you're going to foster two of the kids. I thought you'd want to know."
Beau's chest tightened. "How many kids are we talking?"
"I have video of twelve. Eight of them we have names of, so once the team gets back, we can go in and take care of things in those foster homes," Carter explained. "Two of the four kids we know are Lisa and Jeff. I haven't found a video of the other two who lived with Lisa and Jeff so far, but we're still digging."
"Hopefully you won't find any." Beau sighed.
"I've run the adult through facial recognition software, but we haven't got a hit. Do you think if I send you the picture, you could ask your source at CPS if he recognizes him? I know you probably don't want to involve him, but we could really use a name. If he's one of the foster parents, we'd like to put him out of action. If we can get all this information ready tonight, we can sting the homes later this week, once Bryon and the team get back from Arizona tomorrow."
"I thought they were coming back tonight?" Beau had sworn Faith had said Xander would be home Sunday night.
"They decided to stay an extra day to help with their cover story and because they found a tattoo convention that Xander and Dyson wanted to go to."
Beau rolled his eyes. "Those two don't have much more room for tattoos. Anyway, send me the photo. I'll ask Parson. He thinks I have a friend in the police force who handles these cases. He won't question it. I'll give you a call back as soon as I hear from him."
"Sounds good. Sorry to bother you on your day off." Carter sounded sincere.
"What's a day off?" Beau sighed. "It's not a problem. You guys keep up the good work."
"STK out." Carter ended the call.
Beau sighed as he waited for the photo to come to his phone. Once it did, he was glad to see it was just a face shot. He didn't want Parson to have to see any of the abuse. Sending the photo to his regular cell, he quickly gave Parson a callback.
"Sorry about that," he said when Parson answered.
"Hospital?" Parson asked.
"Thankfully, no. It was my friend with the police. They've found a video of some of the kids being abused, but they can't identify the man. I was hoping that since it's linked to the foster care system, you might know him. I don't know if he's a foster parent or just someone random, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to send you the photo and see if you've ever seen him."
"Yeah, of course I'll give it a look. I only know the families I've worked with, but you never know. Could be someone I've seen in the office or at one of the orientation groups. Send it to me." Parson sounded excited to help.
"Sending it now." Beau quickly sent the photo.
"Let me look." Parson got quiet for a moment.
"It's probably a dead end, but we had to try." Beau didn't hold out much hope.
"Um, actually, I know him. At least I used to. He had the desk right beside mine. His name is Albert Johnson. He was a CPS caseworker until he was fired about a year or so ago for sexual harassment. I heard he was trying to blackmail women to sleep with him in order for him to pass off inspections and other things. Never liked the guy." Parson sounded disgusted. "He's the one who raped these kids?"
"One of them. They have video of him with several kids. I don't have a lot of details. Let me call my friend and give him the information and I'll call you later. I want to get this to him right away." Beau was writing down everything that Parson had told him.
"Sure. Good luck. I'm glad the police got a lead. I'll talk to you later."
