"You know, the best way is to let them see for themselves. Why are we hanging out here?" Parson raised a brow at Beau.

"He's right. Grab your bags. I've already signed the papers and you guys are free to go." Beau reached for one of the bags on the bed.

"Do we have to ride with Parson?" Lisa asked.

Parson shook his head. "I know that usually, your caseworker takes you to your new home, but since Beau is here, if you want to ride with him, that's fine. I'll follow and meet you guys there."

"Is it far?" Jeff asked.

"Not really. It takes about ten minutes to drive here from my house." Beau looked around the room. "Got everything?"

The kids rushed around the room, looking in drawers and closets before nodding.

"Then let's go." Beau led them out of the room. He let the kids lead them down the hall as he stayed beside Parson.

"It's great to see them so happy." Parson smiled as they waited for the elevator.

"It is. I only hope they like my home."

"They are going to love it. I don't think they have any idea what they're in for. The size alone when we drive up will shock them. I'm sure once they get inside it will be even more amazing." Parson ran his hand down Beau's back. "Don't be nervous. They are going to love living with you, and in time, I bet they love you as well."

"I hope so. I have no clue how to be a dad. I'm so scared I'll do or say something wrong."

It was strange to see Beau insecure. "You will, I'm sure several times, but that's what being a parent is. No one is perfect. You'll do your best and the three of you will figure it out somehow."

"I hope you're right. I'm just worried I'll be like my father."

Parson smiled. "The fact you're worried about that is proof that you won't be. You know what it's like to have a father who is never proud of you. You won't be that way. You'll never push Jeff to be a doctor like you if he doesn't want to be. You'll never tell Lisa who she can or can't date because it embarrasses you. You have nothing to worry about. I've met a lot of foster parents, and you are by far the best one out of the bunch."

"Thanks, I'm sure glad you're with me through this. I can't imagine doing this alone." Beau stepped onto the elevator after the kids.

"I'm sure Faith's dads would be there if you asked."

Beau laughed. "They would, but you'll understand why I don't ask when you meet them. Xander is a bit much. While I'm sure in time the kids will love him, he can be a bit shocking to deal with at first. Though, he was exactly what Faith needed when she first came back home. I think it bothered Matt that his daughter clung to Xander, but there was something about him she was drawn to. Maybe protector, I'm not sure."

"I look forward to meeting them both." Parson gave Beau's hand a squeeze, releasing it only when the elevator opened again. Once they got to the parking garage, Parson paused by Beau's car. "I'm not lucky enough to have doctor's parking. I'm up on the next tier. Wait for me and I'll follow you."

"Perfect." Beau reached for Parson, giving him a soft kiss. "Thank you for being here."

"There's nowhere I'd rather be." Parson walked off. Truth was, he was so conflicted right now about how to feel. His gut told him Beau was involved with whatever had happened two nights ago. He wasn't sure how to feel about that.

Standing beside Beau today, he'd never guess he would be the type of man who could hurt another human, but then, when it came to avenging children, almost anyone could be pushed that far.

He pulled his car down to where Beau's was and waited for Beau to back out. From the backseat of Beau's car, Jeff waved at him.

Parson waved back, enjoying seeing the smile on the boy's face. The kids were in for a shock when they found out just how rich Beau was. The house and property that Beau lived on could easily fit four or five of Parson's house. The kids would want for nothing, which after all they'd been through was a blessing. It was time the kids saw that life wasn't always against them.

He saw the moment the kids saw the house. From inside the car, Jeff pointed, and Lisa pressed her face against the passenger window, staring in awe.

The house was impressive, but it lost some of its magic when Beau had told him the house was his father's choosing and not his own. He wondered what Beau would have picked if he could have found his own home and not had his father trying to force him to convey a certain appearance.

He parked the car behind Beau's and slowly got out, giving the kids and Beau time to talk as they stared up at the house.

"This is really where we're going to live?" Jeff asked.

"It's huge." Lisa wrapped her hands around herself as she moved closer to Jeff. "Who else lives here?"

"No one yet. I've hired a nanny to help with meals and anything you guys might need when I'm at work. You'll meet them later tonight," Beau told them.
