"How'd things go?" Carter stood just inside the door as Bryon walked into the house.

"Smoothly. What are you hearing?" He was curious about the emergency response.

"No ignoring this one. The media is already at the hotel looking for information." Carter grinned. "Might be because Trenton called in a few tips to the news stations in the area to give them a heads up, along with forwarding a lot of the evidence we'd collected to them. Dyson is watching cameras at the hotel and they've taken the children out the staff entrance. He grabbed a few screenshots which Trenton also forwarded to the media. There won't be a way for them to hide the fact there were children in the room. All the men have been taken to the hospital and the woman and guard are being questioned. It's as good as we could hope." Carter moved toward the kitchen. "Geo made spaghetti for everyone. He was a nervous wreck, but I'm proud of the brave face he put on. Tera slept through it all."

"I'm starving and could use a strong cup of coffee." Bryon followed Carter into the kitchen. "It smells amazing."

"It was easy to make." Geo shrugged. "I hope I made enough."

"There's plenty here." Matt gripped Geo's shoulder. "Thanks for making it for us. We're all starving."

Bryon poured himself a cup of coffee, then fixed a plate of food. He stood back letting the others sit as he listened to everyone talk about the night's events. They were all still flying high on adrenaline, but it wouldn't last. He figured most of them would sleep in tomorrow since they were all now confined to the house until things calmed down and the police weren't searching for them. He glanced over at Carter. "I need to call Becca and check-in."

"She's waiting. She was with Trenton through it all." Carter smiled. "Go, I'll handle anything that comes up, but I think they'll settle down soon enough."

"Thanks." Bryon finished his food, rinsed his plate, then took his coffee and headed to his bedroom. Once there he kicked off his shoes, changed out of his clothes, and pulled a robe on. He needed to shower, but if he didn't check in with Becca first, she'd kill him. He quickly dialed her number, smiling when she answered after one ring. "Hey, love."

"You're safe?" she asked, a bit breathless.

"I am. We're back home and everything is fine."

"You're not home. Home is here. I miss you."

"I miss you too. If all goes well, we'll be home in a few days. We just need to give things time to settle down around here. I can't wait for things to get back to normal." He sat down on the bed.

"Life is never normal for us, but I get what you mean. How are the kids?" she asked.

"Good. Geo had dinner waiting for us when we got home tonight. He's really a good kid. Tera slept through everything. Has Parson got any leads on a place for her?"

"Not yet, but he's working on it. We should know for sure by the time you get back. I'm leaving tomorrow to fly up to Michigan and drop Lenora and Andy off with their new family. I'll stay the night there and fly back the next morning. I want to make sure they settle in and not just drop them off and run. I'll be staying with the family."

Bryon wished he could go with her. He hated she had to handle this on her own. He was sure she could handle it, but it was always easier with someone by your side. "That's good. I'm glad this hell is almost over for them."

"So am I." She yawned.

"Need me to let you sleep?"

"Not yet. I want to hear your voice a bit longer."

"What's Faith up to?"

"She's helping with the kids and has been helping Parson and Beau shop for Eric. Since Beau's nanny has everyone's kids right now, she's been hanging over there a lot with them." She yawned again. "I think next time we plan our wedding, we need to plan so the kids are there with us. I hate leaving them behind. Kacey and Noam's son asked me if we were going to get married here since we didn't in Vegas."

"What did you tell him?"

"That we haven't decided anything yet."

"What do you want to do?"

"Just marry you. That's all I want. I don't care where. But we have to wait now until Faith can be here. She'll be heading back in a few days. I'm not sure when she can get away again."

"I figured that might happen. Like you, I want everyone with us, even the kids. We were crazy not to think of them the first time around."

"We were meant to be in Vegas. I hate to think what would have happened to the kids if we hadn't gone," Becca said. "We were meant to save them."

"I think so too. But this time, we plan a wedding where the kids can take part and be with us. We can talk about that when I get back." He already had several ideas for where they might go. He didn't want to do it at home. "I can't wait to get back and make love to you. This being apart sucks."

She laughed. "Yeah, it does. I was trying to remember the last time we were apart for this long and it's been years. No more of it, okay? My inner nympho doesn't like it."
