They hung up the phone.

I sat the phone in my passenger seat, and for the next few blocks I rode in silence thinking to myself about the shit they just laid on me. Cashmier pregnant? How, that girl took her birth control pills like vitamins. This was an ongoing issue with us so why would she be pregnant and not tell me? Unless she had been trying to keep it a secret. Cashmier always loved big moments, and big announcements so it could very much be true. A baby though. That unfortunately changes everything about them snatching her up, and they know it which is why they mentioned it. Now, I’m forced to do what them niggas asked, or I will never forgive myself if my kid gets killed in the process of all this shit. My first kid at that. My legacy.

After getting off the line with them niggas I knew what I had to do, and I called Crew and Vincent for some back up on the drop off. Taking the money to them and getting shot in the head when the bag touches the concrete can’t be in the plan. I know Crew and Vincent would be ready to shoot at need be for the sake of me, so they were the first niggas I thought to call. I would do the same in return for them niggas because my loyalty is bought only with loyalty.

Once me and my niggas got together, we loaded up the money in Crew’s car and then went to the exact location the kidnappers told us to go too. The car was silent the entire ride, and the only noise inside was the popping of the gum Crew’s asswas chewing on. Shit was irritating as hell but I know that’s how he keeps his cool, so I ignored it.

The music was humming so low that the engine of Crew’s Track hawk jeep was much louder than the beat. I watched crew out the side of my eye because I know he just can’t believe I’m paying five hundred grand out of the money he helped me make for a bitch.

Crew has money too, but he didn’t have as much money as I do. Despite Crew being in the drug game now, he came in late due to going to Bayou to play basketball for a few years. The nigga was doing good away from the hood and the bullshit until he brought the hood to school, smoking weed, and drinking and partying just like his drunk uncles on the block. When he got kicked off the team, he came to me for a position in the game and I gave it to him. Now he is second in command with my organization, and he treats it just as if it were his baby too. I like to think had he made it to the league he would’ve been employing me as his manager or some shit. Now he’s mine managing the streets.

“Alright, here is the spot my boy. You sure you ready to give up that half a mill for your hoe?”

I looked over at that nigga and right away he knew that he was out of line.

“My bad bruh, I get it. You said she pregnant with your baby, but.”

“But nothing. The money is a loss and that’s just how I’m looking at it.”

“I understand you bruh. Trust me I do. I would probably do the same thing if one of my five or six casual fucks got pregnant. I get you; it’s just, man. Five hundred thousand. That kid betternot ever talk back to you.” He shook his head while staying vigilant to our surroundings.

“Pop the trunk nigga.”

I hopped out of the car in this stank ass alleyway to grab the two duffle bags of money. I couldn’t help but grunt because these bags were just as heavy as the weights I lifted at my gym. I need to start working out with bags of money so I can really choke a muthafucka to death. I know having a kid, is about to make me even more uptight about how shit ran around me. No more hiring people because they family or because we cool. I want nothing but trained assassins around me and my family because someone takes my child and the entire New York City will feel it. Every inch of it.

I tossed the bags on the side of the trash can and then took my dick out my pants to piss over the money since I had to piss anyway.

I pulled out my phone and then called the number I was instructed too to tell them about the drop.

“Hello?”

“It’s there. Now drop her off.”

“We will as soon as the money is in our hand. Leave the area completely and we will pick it up.”

“Yeah, alright.”

I hung up the phone. I instructed Crew to drive off far enough to let them get the money from where I left it. About five minutes of me being nervous as a muthafucka went by before they confirmed they had it and sent me a text message saying she was behind the abandon church on Brunken street.

Once given the okay to get Cashmier, we raced over to the area where they said she would be. At first, I felt played, pullinginto the parking lot and not seeing anyone around, then I saw the reflection of her glossed over eyes laying on the concrete with grey duct tape on her mouth.

I jumped out of the car before Crew put it in park.

“Cash, you good. You alright?”

I asked her and she was so choked up; she just wrapped her arms around my neck. I picked her up from the ground and carried her to the car where Crew had the door open waiting for me. He wasn’t the craziest about Cash but even he looked like he felt sorry for her. This shit is about to for sure cause a war.

“You alright? They didn’t hurt you, did they?”

I looked over her body as we sped through the streets.

“No, they didn’t hurt me. It was just so scary. So fuckin scary baby. I didn’t know where I was. I wasn’t sure if they would let you come get me.”

“I was always going to get you even if they didn’t let me. Why didn’t you tell me that you are pregnant Cash? I would’ve kept a better watch on you had I known that shit. I thought you were on birth control because you didn’t want any kids.”

“I started to feel the opposite a couple of months back and stopped taking my birth control without telling you. I found out I was pregnant on my birthday because I suspected it and didn’t want to get drunk if I was with child. I took the pregnancy test, it came back positive, but you didn't come back home all day. Then once you did, I honestly didn’t think you cared.”

“Of course I care. It’s my kid. Why wouldn’t I care?”
